The FAQ for the new DLC has an entry titled "Where is Online Party on GOG and redirect to another FAQ entry listing how the Online Mode was achieved but never mentions GOG. Instead only Steam (or Valve) is mentioned. Does this mean that this mode will not be available on GOG?

I'm afraid not. The online mode was developed with help from Valve or Steam developers and they apperently couldn't be asked to put in the extra effort it would take to do it on GOG Galaxy. As a sorry excuse, they upped the price of the dlc from the regular 4,99 to 5,69 euros on Steam and pretended GOG got a discount. I love the game, but this was quite scummy.

So what you're saying is that the Steam version has something extra and costs extra money as well? Pardon me but that doesn't sound scummy at all.

Does GOG Galaxy even have a large enough multiplayer base to justify putting it on the GOG version?

Fair point I guess but it certainly doesn't attract more people to the platform. Galaxy seems to me like an easy way to get more online multiplayer games to GOG. It's basicly copying Steam while giving you more choice on the user side. They could also just make you able to sign into your GOG account within the game itself. Point is, they obviously took the laziest route with the online portion of this game, giving people that prefer their games without toxic drm the lesser experience.

I think what he meant is the following (Current listing):

GoG (CAD)
Base game + Nyakuza Metro: 19.99 + 5.99 = 25.98

Steam (CAD)
Base game + Nyakuza Metro + Online: 16.49 + 7.99 = 24.48

I don't see a discount on GoG's side but, I'm using CAD and as they mentioned in their blog they got help from Valve for stream MP integration. If anything, it's sketchy the other way around, mind you, I bought this on GoG two years ago because of a sale. I didn't regret it in then and I definitely didn't think there would be any disparity between PC copies unlike Monster Hunter World. (PC port released later)
Well, just bought this game here because of the new multiplayer mode. Then I thought, let's check the forums and I see this thread. Wish they'd have a warning on the game's page, since the DLC is not listed under the DLC tab yet.

I just hope I can get a refund.

Yeah, I dunno how I feel about owning a swiss cheese copy of the game...

At the most they'll request you to send what your spent to your wallet as it's take quite a time to fully refund. That's what happen to me for another purchase.
