Has anyone had any success in running the game under Linux?

I've attempted it using Wine and PlayOnLinux, but thus far have only achieved long black-screen loads followed by crashes. :/
I got running under heroic but after the first boss it glitches
It runs on the vanilla wine dev branch, but after the first boss a black screen follows (apparently it's a problem with the cinematics) I solved it by emulating a virtual desktop and when I alt tab the game run without problems
Ah, the development version of Wine and a virtual desktop seems indeed to have done it!

(Although Lutris--which I've started using--isn't happy about the latter. Well, it runs it anyway.)

Alas, it does seem like no cutscenes work at all. So I suppose that I'll have to decide whether I want to play the game sooner, or wait for play it another day, when perhaps whatever is preventing cutscenes from working is fixed...
You can try heroic games launcher, lutris only brought me problems and headaches...
Well, I tried Heroic, and it pretty cool!

... That said, I'm actually having even more trouble with it, as it won't even recognise the wine-dev installation that I have! ^^;

(Apparently it might if I copy wine-dev to one of the folders that it wants, but I don't really want to do that.)
Sorry for the double-post, but I have an update:

(Note: I don't recall the exact order of events here: it's possible that more than just the paragraph below was involved in this progress; I'm not sure.)

Using Lutris and Proton GE, I've managed to get to the point at which cutscenes display a test-pattern, with cutscene -text and -prompts overlaid on it and audio playing behind it. (The audio, at least, I previously had; the test-pattern and text are both new.)

Presumably I'm missing some codec or other, but attempts to install such via Winetricks have thus far taken me no further.

If I just knew what codec was (presumably) missing, I might be able to install it and get cutscenes fully working...!

A triple-post update:

Okay, I've switched back to WINE-Dev: In the end Proton incurred crashes, if I recall correctly.

And I thought for a while that I could just play without the cutscenes, or at least just reading the text that accompanies them...

... However, I made it past the tall shield-bearing (mini-?)boss, broke a yellow object, and so initiated a cutscene... which doesn't seem to end. After some initial sounds, it just sits there, repeating a quiet sound on loop. Perhaps more importantly, it doesn't seem to respond to input (including holding "escape" to skip).

As a result, and presuming that whatever I gain from the yellow object is important, I seem to be stuck. :/

(Which is only more frustrating as I had trouble with another game that I bought just recently, Hands of Necromancy II, leaving me with two games just bought that I can't really play. :/ )
I had a similar experience during the final cinematic, I had to try it a few times until it worked, it seems to be more of a bug in the game than a consequence of running it with wine
Hmm... I tried it a few times myself with this cinematic, but maybe I'll try it a few more, then.

I'm sad to read that the game itself seems to have such issues, even aside from emulation! :/
They are working on a new patch, hopefully they will fix these problems.
Oh! That's really good to know! Thank you for sharing that! ^_^

Maybe then I'll be able to get back to the game sooner rather than later! ^_^
