We are several in the release thread who wonder this, this FAQ let thinks that they certainly be free, but "official" words would be welcome concerning this :)
And will there be a new campaign with each faction ? (and so, same question : for free ?)
Yes this was not quite clear from the FAQ on Steam. I know you said (Petroglyph) in one livestream that it wasn't decided yet but some clarity would be nice.

Hey Splatsch!

Sorry we've been a bit wishy-washy on that subject. We're not even certain ourselves yet, because it depends on the success of the game launch, and the amount of content we would be creating for a second faction.

If it's just a faction, we might just give it out for free to beef up (even more) the core content of the original game. If the campaign is getting heavily played and we feel that people are anxious for more content (more maps, a full campaign, etc.) then we may make it an add-on and give people that own the core game a discount.

For now, we're focused on showing everyone how fast we can react to requests in the forums for some minor improvements and bug fixes. Once we get past the next week we'll know better where we stand.

Thanks for asking, and supporting the game! We really appreciate it. :)

Hi! Thanks for your answer but I must admit I'm still unsure about buying your game. Let me be straightforward about it:
- Your game did get my attention. I really like what I see.
- I never have a feeling "I must play this game (insert any title here), I must!" so it's not a problem for me to skip a game even though it may seem very interesting to me.
- I tried several games with DLCs and I can't name even one game where I felt satisfied with this model so every time I see a game with non-free DLCs appearing a month or so after the release of the main game I remove it from my wishlist.
- Of course it's up to you how to run your business, I'm not judging you at all (I admit that my attitude may be wrong) but if you are about to release paid DLCs I won't support you. Otherwise you can expect me to buy your game full price, without waiting for a sale.
- I guess I will wait a bit to see what's your final decision about expanding your game.

Anyway, congratulations, your game looks amazing! I

Thank you! The game is quite complete as-is, but we can understand why people want more of everything. We'll do our best to win you over. :)

I certainly understand that you do games for a living so I don’t blame anyone for wanting to earn more money. I have no problem in buying a proper expansion like Majesty: Northern Expansion or Warcraft III: The Frozen Throne but I do have an issue with lame DLCs even if they are cheap but add very limited content like DLCs for Omerta or Sword of the Stars: The Pit. I was really disappointed by those and so many others…

I will keep an eye on your game but sadly, it will take some time before I decide to buy it. And the reason is trivial - I’ve just checked the system requirements and my gaming laptop is barely meeting it. And since I prefer to play with better quality I’ll have to upgrade it first and I won’t do that soon.

All the best for your team!

For reference: this is my laptop (check under specifications)

The game runs silky smooth on on 1920x1080 on full texture detail, very high environment detail, high shader detail and reduced particle detail. This is what it looks like:

Hmm... my laptop is slightly worse than yours but that's still a maybe. I'll have to think about it/watch some videos etc.

Hey, thanks for the answer !
I took my time for mine, because I followed closely everything that happened in the forums concerning your game : I wanted to see more how you'll handle the launch.
And for what I see, it's really nice. The game looked really cool, and your implication in the forums (and especially here on GOG) is really, really appreciated. If you keep up this way, the game will be awesome (only one fast suggestion : don't loose your "idea" of the game because of all the suggestions of players ;)). I finally ended up buying it, with the soundtrack. It was an hard decision (don't have a lot of money). But... I want to support you (and Franck, I really love his work, which is, as usual, awesome :D). You seems to do your best to support players (I believe you when you say you'll do your best to release the more content possible in free updates), so, I think it's fair to try to trust you and your game. I only hope I'm not mistaken and that you won't do "DLC crap". Doing expansion(s) for me isn't a problem, as long as the base game is complete, and that an expansion is really worth the money (and expands the game). What I really don't like are DLC : when a game is sold part by part. I wish and hope you won't follow this way ;)
But I understand your words and uncertainty. I hope you'll have enough success to publish a lot more content for free ! Everybody will be happier (you included) :D

Well, I'll do another feedback thread to talk about how I feel about the game ;) I already played it a little... That's really fun !!
Only one important notice who is a real "problem" for me right now : victory/defeat music are at a different level of the ingame music (when you're playing) : it's louder, and ingame musics are a lot lower (I putted "music" at max level in audio options). This is really not nice because I have to rise a little sound of my speakers when I play to really enjoy the music, and when I win/lose, victory music play a lot louder in comparison (and I'm surprised nobody else raised this problem)(or maybe it's only me, in which case, is there a solution ? Oo).
And : how to change your commander name ?? I'm commander "Invalid", that's not... the funniest commander name I know XD

By the way, I'm playing RTS only in single player, so campaign, map editor/generator are very important for me :) I appreciate that you have in mind people like me.
And again, I personally appreciate that you come here, take the time to read our questions and feedbacks, take them in account and answer us (with honesty, like concerning the upcoming factions question). That's one of the reasons I bought your game.

Hope your first selling week is going well :)

Edit : concerning sound/music volume... is it me or is the general sound volume of the game low ? (except this win/lose music)

Thanks for the nice comments! I will pass this along to Frank, and I'll also mention the audio sound level issue to our audio programmer.
