Hi everybody!

I was very happy running back 7th Legion after years today, but I just found out that the game is working too fast to play. Is this is a setting issue or hardware issue?

For settings, I have tried Win 95 Compatibility Mode (always running as a Administrator), but it behaves as if the CD is not inserted in the past (only Multiplayer is selectable).

For hardware, I have both on board Intel GPU and GeForce GT 740M GPU on my laptop, and I tried to alternate between them with no result.

I have Win 8.1 as OS.

Thanks for your help!

Hi,

Whenever you have a technical issue like this, it's best to write to our Support department. Thanks :)
For me, only the menu animation is (way!) too fast; the grid of background movies and spinning logo's. The actual gameplay runs at normal speed. I assume this is a known issue / not fixable?

W7x64, GTX285 here.

The menu spinning is a known issue but the gameplay works just fine on Windows 7 and Windows 8 (if the game plays odd on Windows 8 please do write to us, we don't bite :) )
Thanks to your replies! After reading sndwv's reply and checking back with the game, I decided that maybe I am mistaking that the game is running at a faster speed - but from now on I will contact with support dep. in case of issues :-)

Maybe compare it with a couple of YouTube let's plays / walkthroughs and see if it's running faster for you or if it's your mind playing tricks?
I wonder what's causing these issues with the menu animations being too fast, when I played it in Wine (Linux) a few years ago it ran fine, and it obviously did on PC's back in the 90's (the game relied on an outdated version of DirectDraw, and became unplayable on Windows 2000 and onwards up until the GOG release).
It seems the game is actually a bit fast, or also those in let's plays are still playing faster than it is :-)

Mightyarchangel:
I noticed that the menu you should get when you hold down the left mouse button for about a second to set behaviour (aggressive/passive) appears almost instantly, sometimes making it pretty hard to actually give your units any orders, since you get the menu on almost every click, so it does seem like some timer based things go too fast.
For some reason this game makes my computer rev like a motorcycle. It runs newer RTS's fine, I don't know what the problem is.
