There are four or five intro sequences before you get to the main menu. Any way to stop those and go direct to the main menu?

Press the escape key?
Unless you're looking for something more permanent. Open the folder where you installed 1nsane ( by default it's C:\program files\GOG.com\1nsane ), then open the "Data" folder. In here, either delete or rename the "Anims" folder.

Or start game.exe with a command line parameter:
Game.exe nosplash nomutox nofullscreen ( and so on )

Edit: I had exactly the same experience as Greybriar, got linked to wrong forum and wrong post(was supposed to be a Darklands thread!).
