Does anyone have experince to plya 1nsane on Windows 10? It works like a charm in the single player mode, but multi player doesn't work at all.

If host a game, a portscan doesn't shows the ports, although they've been opened in the firewall.

We'd like to play it online through VPN but I can't make it work trough LAN.

My other question is: Is there any way to change the server's liten address?

I hope you guys can help me out in this topic.

Been having problems the last 3-4 years also with Windows 10 - nobody can connect to the server. TCPView says 1nsane is listening on 0.0.0.0 even though ipconfig only lists one interface. Any ideas?
SOLVED!

I had a think about what could be done, and as 1nsane is such an old game, it supports IPX. I downloaded IPXWrapper from [unable to post links here, google it, url contains solemnwarning dot net] and from the zip, copied the four DLLs into 1nsane folder and applied the 64bit registry patch. After that I was able to make an IPX lobby in 1nsane and another computer with the same IPXwrapper installed was able to join. I'd expect this to work over VPN as well. We had some desync issues with peer to peer protocol, but none with the client-server option.

It also worked with the widescreen mod, however none of us could get 1440p to work and had to upscale from a smaller 16:9 resolution..Another thing I recommend is to delete the Anims folder from the 1nsane installation folder. It speeds up launching the game a lot.

Sadly not yet solved for me.

I did the IPXWrapper as well which added the IPX option but still no matter what settings I use the PCs don't see each other.

So far I've also tried Need for Speed 3 and can't get that to work either. crapppp
