It's mediocre.
Hell no. Just play Empires of the Undergrowth instead. This is not a good ant game or RTS. It's extremely bare bones, very basic, and boring. It starts off fun but then becomes very tedious and boring experience. It's not worth the current price. It should be $20 or less. It's extremely dumbed down which was clearly done for consoles. The combat, resource production, and base building is very basic with no depth to it. It's pathetic. Your ant legions are the same old same old. Most units don't even fight and the majority just stand and watch. Your main character/ant that you can control can't even fight. Most quests are extremely boring/tedious. I didn't think catching fire flies was fun, finding your lost ant sisters on a flooded map wasn't fun, and neither was jumping across an entire flooded map fun. There's missions where you literally do no combat or base building. I expected a lot more combat but there isn't. There's hardly any resources to collect on most map. Killing insects doesn't provide food. All there is is 2 resource production buildings in your nests for wood and food. That's it. Then it's a time sink where you have to wait for resources to be produced overtime so slowly In most maps enemies dont' even attack you and they're 100% passive. It's boring. There's no manual saves so be preparded to lose your progress like I did when I left a mission half way through. There's no option to change difficulty settings. It feels like you're playing on "easy mode" which is boring because there's no challenge what so ever. This game is a sad excuse for an ant game. I wouldn't recommend it to anyone. If you want a good ant game then I recommend buying "Empires of the Undergrowth." I regret this purchase.

tiny perspective, grand adventure
Played the game for a few hours and was surprised at just how detailed and "alive" the world felt. The perspective takes a bit to get used to but soon you won't think twice about it. During the first battle, I really enjoyed how simple the system was to understand and the color coding really helped as well. My only gripe is I wish there was some kind of aiming indicator when you're jumping otherwise distance has to be eyeballed. Overall a very enjoyable game.

Casual fun and adorable easily 5/5
Exactly what I was hoping for - part exploration, part RTS. Devs did a wonderful job with balancing these two gameplay mechanics. Graphics are the most impressive I have ever seen in any game to date, incl. from among recent AAA titles with path- and ray-traced lighting (Steam). I really appreciate the time put into artwork and atmosphere. I love the cute little way the ants refer to themselves by number (in the thousands) and the sounds they make. I love the way my little guy moves and scuttles about. I jump in and play this just casually every now and again so I have yet to complete it. I'm in no rush. I'm enjoying myself. Big shout out to the devs too for optimisation. I have not come across any (software) bugs or glitchs or fps drops. What a cool game!

poorly made
Looks nice, plays like a tin can. Not worth the price at all. Gameplay is lacking so severely, it feels like they gave up on adding things into the game after getting only 10% of the way done. Don't out your money into this one, play a different game instead and don't waste $40+.
