Craftomation 101: Programming & Craft

EN: I’m a programmer, and even though this is technically also "programming," it’s not fun. The reason is that everything ends up as endless spaghetti code because there are no self-iterating while loops or other ways to group all objects of a type into a list or array. There are now so many programming games out there that you really don’t need to play this one if you’re in the mood for something like that. DE: Ich bin Programmierer, und auch wenn das hier formal gesehen ebenfalls "Programmieren" ist, macht es keinen Spaß. Der Grund dafür ist, dass alles in endlosem Spaghetticode endet, da es weder selbstiterierende while-Schleifen noch andere Möglichkeiten gibt, alle Objekte eines Typs als list oder Array zusammenzufassen. Es gibt mittlerweile so viele Programmier-Spiele, dass man dieses hier wirklich nicht spielen muss, wenn man Lust auf so etwas hat.

The GOG version of this game is barely playable. The game is in early access, and is updated regularly...on Steam. On GOG, somehow, they got the buggiest version, where you can't even type without it doubling every letter you press. Early access is a gamble, I know that going in, so I'm going to hope that they update the version on GOG with updates so the game can live up to its potential. If you want to follow this game in early access, I suggest you buy it on Steam (or just play the demo there!) Not Recommended

It has potential, but needs _a lot_ more work. UI bugs abound. Timers are unbalanced, everything is running out faster than the little bots can replenish it, leaving you to scramble and micromanage your heat and fuel. And on the one hand you get a visual editor for your bot logic, but on the other hand you have to express lowest-level concepts like "pick this from this storage here, but if it's empty, do not pick up the storage itself", or "drop this off here and go _somewhere else_ to pick up more of that thing, no don't pick it up from the spot you dropped it, bad bot!".

This is WORSE than beta version, the HUD will disappeare and tool bar function locked out, mouse will very oftenly locked in the code boxes. UIs are very shoddy and hard to realize. Everything glitched. and Why it require to modify Default Program when launch?? The dev is mean and stingy, and unwilling to hear bug report, the in-game feedback is unable to send and very delayed notification banner shows up when submit next feedback, it's Discord server also need a phone number so it just wanna fully block us out. Will never support more game from this dev.

This game isn't the best for education, but it is fun. Even though it's not the best for education, it still helps in understanding how code works.
