by Blizzard Entertainment
Genres:Strategy
Themes:Fantasy
Game modes:Single player, Multiplayer
Story:Warcraft: Orcs & Humans is the first game in the Warcraft series developed by Blizzard Entertainment. The Orcish hordes are summoned through the dark portal to the peaceful human Kingdom of Azeroth. When the two races meet each other, a terrible war ensues. Only one race can dominate the land. Players can choose to play as either the Humans or the Orcs. There are 12 scenarios for each race with mostly a single objective: destroy the enemy. As with most RTS games of the same era, a lot of time is spent collecting resources and building structures to make/upgrade different types of units.Show more

Wow, the voting system to bring games to GOG (or back to GOG in this case I guess) really looks dashing. But before I digress I want to share why this game (and the second installment that I missed getting here in time) mean so much to me. Warcraft 3 was my first Warcraft experience back in the day shortly after gaming was synonymous with console gaming to me and before I played a lot of PC games. You know, back when buying PC games on CDs was a thing. Warcraft 1 and 2 are the hidden part to me whereas WoW just never clicked with me, guess mostly due to being a subscription. (I got my MMORPG experiences in, just not there) I would love to play Warcraft 1 and 2 eventually and I'd love to be able to go back to those games whenever I feel like it and truth be told, I don't trust Blizzard at all keeping their legacy up in ways that respect my consumer rights. With GOG I have a little bit more of a trusted feeling knowing I can keep the installers on my terms, that there's no DRM and as long as GOG is around I guess there will be some efforts (and legal abilities) to patch any problems that get inbetween and old game and new computers and architectures. I sadly missed getting W1 and 2 by mere days. I wouldn't call a bet on Blizzard bringing this back, but hope and dreams die last, so here I am. If anything, Microsoft being the new owner of Blizzard (this really doesn't escape my lips lightly...) they could put their money (or commitment) where their mouth is when they claim they are about conserving video game history. I see their efforts on Xbox to make old games playable albeit I'd say it's also kinda due to them jumping architectures that they needed to invest so much effort into making old games play on newer consoles until they finally stuck with an architecture from One to Series S|X, but oh well...
Blizzard (and Activision and Microsoft) are a bunch of piss babies for removing this game off of GOG. That is a major insult to games as art. Put it back and let this game be preserved!
It is unfortunate that this game. A gem that was always available on a game on GoG, was pulled by Blizzard itself due to them wanting to re-release it in some kind of warchest, and based on Warcraft 3 reforged, they may somehow make it worse when their version of the game is release. I have the game. I haven't played it much since I'm still bad at RTS's, but I know damn will it was wrong of them to remove a game they haven't thought about off of GoG to begin with. Please do whatever you can to bring back what was rightfully GoG's and the gamers that want this edition to play.
Those games also need your vote!

Dune II: The Building of a Dynasty
Dune II: The Building of a DynastyDune II is often considered the first mainstream modern real-time strategy game and established many conventions of the genre. Even though set in Frank Herbert's famous Dune universe, the game is only loosely connected to the plot of any of the books or the films based from them. Controlling either of the three Houses, the player must fight a number of battles against the other Houses. In the early levels, the goal is simply to earn a certain number of credits, while in the later missions, all enemies must be destroyed. The single resource in the game is the Spice, which must be collected by harvesters. The spice is converted to credits in a refinery, which are then spent to construct additional buildings and units. There are two terrain types: buildings can only be constructed on stone, while the Spice is only found on sand. However, units moving on sand attract the large sandworms of Dune, who are virtually indestructible and can swallow even large units whole. As levels progress, new and more advanced buildings and units are made available, including structures like a radar station, a repair facility or defense turrets and, for units, various ground troops, light vehicles and tanks. Each House can construct one unique special unit, and, after building a palace improvement, can unleash a unique palace effect.

Empire Earth
Empire EarthEpochs are the ages a player passes through in Empire Earth. Each of these epochs represents an age within history. In Empire Earth, the last two ages (Digital and Nano Ages) are set into the moderate future. In the Art of Conquest, a third future age, the Space Age, is available. It deals with space colonization. Each epoch brings new technologies and units. Epoch advancement requires additional buildings to be built and the costs of advancing increases as more epochs are attained, although the ability to gather the required resources greatly increases as well. With new epochs, some new units are available at the cost of having to abandon the ability to produce old units, though any old units still alive are kept. The epochs in Empire Earth are the Prehistoric Age, the Stone Age, the Copper Age, the Bronze age, the Dark Age, the Middle Ages, the Renaissance, the Imperial age, the Industrial age, the Atomic World War I age, the Atomic World War II Age, the Atomic Modern Age, the Digital Age and the Nano Age. An extra epoch, the Space Age, is available in Empire Earth: The Art of Conquest.
