This game holds a special place in my heart. It may not be the best Splinter Cell in terms of gameplay and it has for sure many technical flaws and some questionable game design elements, due to the release of the game being rushed, but I love it. And first of all I really loved the double agent concept and the different main choices having impactful consequences on some of the characters and on the story, that brought a great extra layer of tension to the traditional, great and unique Splinter Cell gameplay. I honestly rarely felt so much tension in a game and it's unique to Double Agent in the series, and even in the entire stealth genre. I think that's what made me love this game so much. Besides I consider its soundtrack and story as the best ones in the entire series, and the Shanghai mission is part of my top 5 favorite missions of the whole franchise. And even if this game lacks polish and was released too early, it was still innovative gameplay-wise and introduced some new interesting features and gadgets like the ability to swim, takedowns from a corner, the inverted rappel through the winch, the glass cutter, the ultrasonic emitter, the safe-cracking minigame, the ability to hide under a truck or a desk,... If the devs had the opportunity to properly implement these mechanics and features, I'm sure this would have been the ultimate Splinter Cell game ! I've always dreamed of Ubisoft finally patching this game and fixing it once and for all because this game gets so much ignorance, rejection and bad reviews because of its poor optimization. Sadly I know they'll never do this, so hopefully we can have it on GOG with the patches, the fixes and the widescreen resolutions included.
One case of devs making different games with the same name. For the sake of closure and preservation, "Version 2" as its called must come to PC... And I suppose a fixed version of the flagship version would be nice.
Those games also need your vote!
Fear Effect 2: Retro Helix
Fear Effect 2: Retro HelixSet in a crazed, alternate future of Hong Kong, Fear Effect 2: Retro Helix is the prequel to the survival-horror hit Fear Effect. You play as one of four deadly mercenaries on a team that's been commissioned to bring back the kidnapped daughter of a powerful Chinese executive. The action begins with Hana, Glas, and Deke the three main characters from the original game meeting each other for the first time. Soon afterward they meet Rain, a close friend of Hana's. Hana, Glas, and Deke are on separate missions to retrieve three objects, but before long they realize that they're involved in the same deadly plot. The action takes the foursome through Hong Kong, Hell's Kitchen in New York City, the walled city of Xi'an, the lost tomb of the first emperor of China, and in the end, to the mountain island of the immortals, Penglai Shan. Then, after lunch, things really get crazy!

Freelancer
FreelancerEight hundred years prior to the start of our story, bitter conflict divided all of mankind. A handful of colonists struck out on their own to begin anew - far away from the Earth and its turmoil. Several ships were launched with enough equipment and supplies to give the hundreds onboard a fighting chance - but since the area around far-off Sirius had never been surveyed, no one really knew what to expect. What they found was a new frontier of free-flowing natural resources, unexplored territories, great wonders and lurking dangers. Each ship, representing the clusters of people and their earthly place of origin, settled into different parts of the galaxy pre-selected by their ship-board computer to give them the best chance of survival. Life was hard in the beginning, but over the 800 years the different colonies prospered and expanded their territories, claiming more and more systems for their own. Survival and propagation eventually led to growth and profit as each of the colonies developed specialties and fostered commerce. As the colonies grew and time passed their connections with their roots on Earth dwindled and they lost their memories of the conflicts of the past. Soon their attention was dominated by new, more immediate conflicts. Feelings of lost ancestral connection spurred anachronism in the look of the great cities, and created a somewhat distorted image of each colony's cultural heritage. In the ever-expanding outer edge of the territories, frontier lawlessness prevailed. The Houses: Each shipboard colony that left Earth carried some memory of its origins in its name. The Liberty carried Americans, The Bretonia flew from The United Kingdom and surrounding territory, The Kusari from Asia, and the Rheinland launched with Germanic cargo. As each ship settled and colonies began to expand, they knew little about each other and their advancing development. Finally, little by little, the individual colonies found each other and began to set up trade routes to link their systems for commerce and solidarity. Today, with each colony firmly rooted in its respective corner of the galaxy, the colonies rely heavily on each other for trade and industry but also compete for resources and new territories in the Border Worlds. The colonies mandate member governments in "The New Alliance" within the Sirius sector. To control conflicts, each colony has forged alliances and treaties with others as they have grown. Competition remains fierce, however. Struggles rage for supremacy in business, commerce, resources, power and control. There can be tenuous peace between colonies' political agendas, but the grabs for holdings constantly unsettle the volatile frontier.

The Godfather II
The Godfather IIAfter being promoted by Michael Corleone to Don of New York, players expand to new cities, as they build up their families through extorting businesses, monopolizing illegal crime rings and defeating new families in an effort to become the most powerful mob family in America. To help players manage their empire, The Godfather II introduces "The Don's View" - an innovative strategy meta-game that allows players to oversee the entire world as they grow the family business. Using the Don's View, players will be able to build, defend and expand their crime rings, while keeping an eye on the movements and plans of the rival families. Players will also learn to master the business of organized crime by building a family of Made Men, hiring crew, handing out orders, and promoting their best men up the ranks. Set in a stunning open-world environment, The Godfather II expands on the popular gameplay mechanics of the first game and doubles down on the series' signature BlackHand control scheme, which now features even more visceral hand-to-hand brutality at your fingertips, introducing a new combo system, pressure tactics and executions. In The Godfather II, players fight alongside their hand-picked crew, who have their own skills and expertise. Each family member specializes in a specific field such as demolitions, arson, engineering, first-aid and more. As The Don you control the family, sending some of your men on missions while heading off into action with others. The combination of strategic organized crime gameplay and brutal BlackHand action promises to set The Godfather II apart from other open-world games. Play The Godfather II online multiplayer modes and become the true Don of Dons. Take your money, weapons, and crew from your single-player experience online and wage mob warfare against up to 16 players from around the world.
