This was definitely a different experience than the other Halo games and more of an addition to Halo 3 than it's own game completely. Can be a little harder at times and the darkness takes a little getting use to but I remember sympathising with the flying turtle aliens due to how they were used and abused for their abilities. It was also a different experience playing as an ODST instead of a spartan, which really put into perspective just how powerful spartans were, so much so that even a well trained service member paled next to one. It was interesting playing through the game and realising how the sentient city itself was trying to help (that might be an innept summary but I digress). The soundtrack was yet again masterful and stood out. This and reach were by far the last masterful additions to the series. Nothing has managed to come close (as of early 2025). I absolutely loved playing this with a veteren Halo player, who could help fill the gaps as we went through (not spoiling it) when I had questions if something didn't make sense. I also like the addition of firefight, it's tonnes of fun (and the spartan op thingies are nothing like it). It also showed how scary potentially getting glassed could be... Regardless of the reason why it was occuring as well as being the last to leave a war zone before it gets absolutely annihilated.
