Generation of Chaos: Pandora's Reflection

Generation of Chaos: Pandora's Reflection (2013)

Genres:Role-playing (RPG), Strategy
Story:The sixth game in Idea Factory's strategy RPG saga, Generation of Chaos: Pandora's Reflection features an active-time battle system, in which players can move and position their units in real-time across sweeping battlefields -- you'll need a quick mind and a steady hand to succeed! Dark clouds blanket the withered skies and block out the sun; cracked earth and choking fog rule the land. This colorless world, showing no signs of life, is known as Hades. The barren land is blasted by chilling winds that cut to the bone ... This is where we meet our heroes -- Yuri, a young girl cursed with a disease draining her life away; and Claude, her protective older brother who will stop at nothing to save her. As they travel in search of a cure, they find themselves embroiled in a conflict that will determine the fate of the world and, just maybe, the fate of the siblings. They'll lose old friends, meet new friends, and travel on a path that will lead them to the very doorstep of destiny...Show more

ParaWorld
ParaWorldThe game-concept is similar to "Age of Empires", which is a real-time strategy game. ParaWorld features food, wood, and stone as resources. Food can be picked from bushes, hunted from animals, fished from the sea, or farmed. Stone is located in limited deposits, and wood, cut from trees, is generally scattered throughout a map. Battles can occur on both land and sea. The story takes place in a parallel dimension, where prehistoric life thrives alongside diverse human civilizations that are not technologically advanced. As a result, dinosaurs take the place of traditional wildlife and livestock, though some of the dinosaurs in-game are highly stylized and not necessarily scientifically accurate. Wild-living dinosaurs can be hunted for food, though some are of dangerous and aggressive species and will attack any player unit that wanders too close. Other prehistoric creatures make an appearance as well, for example woolly mammoths are used where other games might feature elephants. Players advance through epochs in order to unlock new technologies and upgrades.

Savage XR
Savage XRBe a Commander or a Warror - RTS meets FPS Savage: The Battle for Newerth is a science fiction game released by S2 Games on September 9th, 2003. It was a first of its kind; described by S2 as a real-time-strategy-shooter (RTSS). Set in a distant future when mankind has rebuilt society following an apocalypse, but is threatened by intelligent beasts, players must choose a side, elect their commander (RTS), and go to war (FPS). In 2006 Savage became freeware and its source code was made available to the public. One year later, a handful of dedicated players and modders began work on Savage XR, a project intended to update and overhaul the original game. Now after seven years of development Savage XR is finished and available for free to the public. XR breathes new life into a game that has held its own for a decade. New features include: in game tutorials, duel practice mode against Python based AI-bots and game-play demos, 500 new props, wide screen support and alternative FOVs, triggers and particle effects, improved models and textures, physics engine supporting realistic collisions, unique items for all competitive clans, a simpler user-friendly installer and automatic game updater, and more. The Ancient Art of War
The Ancient Art of WarThe Ancient Art of War is a computer game developed by Evryware and published by Broderbund in 1984. In retrospect, it is generally recognized as one of the first real-time strategy or real-time tactics games. A battlefield simulation, the game's title comes from the classic strategy text The Art of War written by Sun Tzu around 400 B.C. The objective of the game is to win a series of battles using four types of troops: Knights, Archers, Barbarians, and Spies. All four types are unmounted. It uses the simple "Rock-Paper-Scissors" type of unit balance typical of the genre. Knights beat Barbarians in melee; Barbarians have the advantage over Archers; and Archers have the advantage over Knights, in addition to being effective at defending against attempts to storm a fort. Spies did not fight, but had twice the range of any other unit type in terms of lifting the fog of war. At the start of the game, the player is able to select from a list of campaigns to play. The campaigns include both skirmishes and "capture the flag(s)" type missions, while the terrain layout and initial starting units provided a variety of strategic options for game play. Advanced rule sets such as Training New Units and Supply Line Lengths allow for more customization. The player can also select from among several Artificial Intelligence opponents represented by various historical figures such as Geronimo and Napoleon. Sun Tzu represents the most difficult level. These settings affected both AI behavior, as well as certain properties such as the speed at which enemy units moved through difficult terrain. There is no element of the economic management (mining, gathering or construction) which is a common feature of later real-time strategy games.
