Story:Dance Dance Revolution (ダンスダンスレボリューション Dansu Dansu Reboryūshon?), abbreviated DDR and also known as Dancing Stage in earlier games in Europe and Australasia, and some other games in Japan, is a music video game series produced by Konami. Introduced in Japan in 1998 as part of the Bemani series, and released in North America and Europe in 1999, Dance Dance Revolution is the pioneering series of the rhythm and dance genre in video games. Players stand on a "dance platform" or stage and hit colored arrows laid out in a cross with their feet to musical and visual cues. Players are judged by how well they time their dance to the patterns presented to them and are allowed to choose more music to play to if they receive a passing score. Dance Dance Revolution has been given much critical acclaim for its originality and stamina in the video game market. There have been dozens of arcade-based releases across several countries and hundreds of home video game console releases, promoting a music library of original songs produced by Konami's in-house artists and an eclectic set of licensed music from many different genres. The DDR series has inspired similar games such as Pump It Up by Andamiro and In the Groove by RoxorShow more

The very first game of the Dance Dance Revolution series. Even though the 1st Mix doesn't have a large song variety, it certainly showed that video games and dancing make for an entertaining combo. DDR will definitely be one of Konamis greatest franchises, and the 1st Mix is a short but sweet introduction to it.
Why Dance Dance Revolution OG PC Version Needs to Be on GOG Dance Dance Revolution (DDR), the rhythm game sensation that defined arcades and living rooms alike in the late '90s and early 2000s, had a PC version that many fans today barely remember—but it deserves a comeback, especially on a platform like GOG. The OG PC version of DDR brought the arcade experience home for players who didn’t own a PlayStation or access to the console versions. With USB dance pad support and a selection of iconic tracks, it let players tap into the heart-pumping gameplay that made DDR a global phenomenon. The simplicity of its visual design, paired with its addictively challenging rhythm mechanics, gave it massive replay value. Re-releasing the original PC version on GOG would do more than just serve nostalgia. It would help preserve an essential part of music game history in a DRM-free format—ideal for both collectors and rhythm game enthusiasts. GOG’s reputation for compatibility updates could also ensure this older title runs smoothly on modern operating systems, with potential controller (and dance pad) support integrated natively. With the resurgence of rhythm games and retro revivals, DDR’s original PC version deserves a spot in digital preservation. It’s time to bring back the beat—on GOG, where timeless classics are meant to live.

Guitar Hero
Guitar HeroGuitar Hero is a 2005 music rhythm video game developed by Harmonix and published by RedOctane for the PlayStation 2. It is the first entry in the Guitar Hero series. Guitar Hero was released in November 2005 in North America, April 2006 in Europe and June 2006 in Australia. The game's development was a result of collaboration between RedOctane and Harmonix to bring a Guitar Freaks-like game to United States. The game features a guitar-shaped controller (resembling a miniature Gibson SG) that the player uses to simulate playing rock music. The gameplay is similar to GuitarFreaks, in that the player presses buttons on the guitar controller in time with musical notes that scroll on the game screen. The game features covers of 30 popular rock songs spanning five decades of rock, from the 1960s up through 2005, in addition to bonus tracks. Guitar Hero became a surprise hit, earning critical acclaim and winning many awards from major video game publications, and was considered one of the most influential games of the first decade of the 21st century. The game's success launched the Guitar Hero franchise, which has earned more than $2 billion in sales, spawning several sequels, expansions, and other game-related products.
