I won't be lying, this is not a game for everyone. It is weird. Controls are weird. Story is kinda missing. It feels like an unfinished project. Partly, because it is (check its history, there are a few good articles on that). For someone like me, with a decent knack for space exploration, learning mechanics, getting in trouble and getting out of it - it's worth checking out. Playing this.. feels like flying huge, slow, decently-multifunctional large space ship. Wanna shoot pirate fighters? Hah, just forget it. You won't turn fast enough, not mentioning your main gun array shoots bolts spaced so apart that fighters will simply fly between shots. Send some pilots in fighters after them. Want to land on a planet? Lol. With a huge warp-capable spaceship? Forget it. You'll just crash. Send shuttle, tanks, mining drone/etc. Why mine? to mine materials needed for repair, because you won't find magic health packs lying around the galaxy. Bored sitting in the deck? You can pilot that figher or shuttle yourself, and yeah, get killed, permadeath, no free respawns, Commander. Just joking, there are saves and you can load anytime. If I recall well, that is. It's been years. I love(d) that game, but it's a weird game. It has some bugs. It has some huge gaps, like, drop on a planet, find enemy base, raze it, survive, and ... nothing. But somehow doing things against all odds left me with this crazy inner feeling of an achievement. Learning how to control things takes time. Learning what things really mean takes time. Learning not to do stupid things. Yeah, landing and razing an enemy base on a planet might be boring after tenth time, just like observing what your mining drone found on that moon, it gets boring. But succeeding in doing this or that for the first time after so many failures.. :]

Shin Megami Tensei IIFifty years have passed since the hero of Shin Megami Tensei followed the neutral path, defeated the leaders of Law and Chaos, and founded a state where followers of both ideologies could live freely. But his reign of freedom doesn't last long. The Messian faith gains power, expanding the Cathedral into a new enclosed environment named Tokyo Millennium. The Gaians rise up, but their rebellion is repressed by the Messians' elite warrior class, the Temple Knights. People flock into the encapsulated city, submitting themselves to the strict hierarchy imposed by the Messian Center, where only the privileged living in the Center district are safe from demonic assaults. A few years later, a retired arena fighter Okamoto rescues a man named Hawk, who was fighting for his life against a demon. He trains him to fight in the arena of the Valhalla district, hoping that he would win the tournament, which will grant them both citizenship in the Center district. When Hawk succeeds, he is brought before a Messian bishop, and learns the shocking truth about his own origins and the role he is supposed to play in the grand scheme of events. A new battle for a better future begins. Shin Megami Tensei II retains all the gameplay features of the previous game. The player is able to summon demons, fuse them to create more powerful ones, make them participate in battles, talk to random enemies and receive information from them, etc. The combat is turn-based, and the player explores the complex, maze-like dungeons from a first-person perspective view. Like in the first game, the Law, Chaos, and Neutral alignments play an important role: during the course of the game, the player will have to make choices that influence the alignment of the protagonist, steering the storyline into different directions. New features include a "magic succession" system, which allows demons to carry over their original magic spells when they are fused into new ones, a few additional spells and abilities, and the possibility to play at the casino and win unique items.

It displays a wireframe view (using vector graphics rather than raster graphics) on a horizontal black and white (with green and red sectioned color overlay) vector monitor. Due to its novel gameplay and look, this game was very popular for many years. Throughout the 1980s, Battlezone was ported to several home computer systems (usually on the Atarisoft label), including the Apple II, the Commodore 64, the Sinclair ZX Spectrum, and the Atari XEGS. The Atari ST port contains large parts of the original 6502 code which is emulated in real time. An Atari 2600 port was also released, but has colored raster graphics due to limitations and the view is behind the tank rather than inside it.
