Gori: Cuddly Carnage

I don't want to give any spoilers, but this game is an absolute blast and a call back to the late 90s era of gaming! If you like cats, unicorns, blood, swearing, bad jokes, and gratuitous violence....Gori is right up your Alley, kat. The graphics are simply top-notch with both Ray-Tracing/DLSS and XeSS features included. Accordingly, the animations are smooth having visuals that are reminiscent of the Cyberpunk genre. I think the only drawback here is that there are no daytime areas in the game. The music...well, the music is a macabre metal soundtrack that never ceases to set the atmosphere whether in-game or as a casual listen during the day. I'd wager to say, that the soundtrack could hold its own against bigger AAA titles. The gameplay is a cross between DMC & GoW with Ratchet and Clank type platforming. The controls are very simple and intuitive both on Keyboard and Mouse with the ability to rebind most if not all keys. As for performance, if you meet the required specs it will run no problem whatsoever. To sum it up, you are a cat on a swearing hoverboard who deals death to unicorns. What else could you possible need?

It's an arcade - funny and insane. You are playing as an autapomorphic cat on a skateboard, slicing zombie unicorns. I'm not sure what to add to this description. There is a story, there are no bugs (at least did not face a single one in a few hours of gameplay), and nice voiceover (but not from a cat - it's usually just "meow"). Have fun.

Just finished 100%ing it on the default difficulty. Enormously satisfying gameplay, great sfx and music, fun characters that gave me some genuine laughs (a rarity), and just generally a fantastic experience. Some may find it a bit short (it took 7 hours for me to finish the story and all the bonus challenges) but I felt like it hit the sweet spot of not overstaying its welcome while still making me excited for the possibility of more down the road. I will absolutely get any expansions or sequels down the road and will be replaying on the hardest difficulty (another rarity for me) just for more of that sweet, sweet combat flow.

I was following the game since the first alpha demos and bought it on release and was having a great fun while playing! It's a great mix of cuteness, gore and laugh with a really cool plot. Gori hit that sweet spot in me while looking for games to play. As a casual player, I found the combat enjoyable and I really had fun with figuring out what skills and how to use them on enemies and bosses. Also you can rebind the keys, which is nice. The graphics and music are an amazing combo. It's colorful, a bit gory and music gives a great atmosphere in game. I enjoyed looking at the game, and graphics and built-in photo mode with a lot of options encouraged me to make screenshots which looked beautiful. I don't have the best pc, you could call it a potato, but game is greatly optimized and was running smoothly on high settings, which was a nice surprise for me. Looking for a sequel! Or anything that will expand something mentioned in the final scene of the game.

Honestly, what you see on the cover is what you get when playing. If you vibe with that first impression, you'll have a good time. I'm removing one star because the game is poorly balanced: Gori is an easy game even on its hardest difficulty. Though it will present you with performance goals (time to clear, combat score, etc.), those are really easy to meet. If you've ever played an action game with a dodge mechanic, chances are this title won't resist you. Then I'm removing another because of noticable hurdles. Gori wants you to move forward fast, but will also regurlarly space platforming elements (platforms, rails, walls) awkwardly, breaking the flow. It will also force you through long empty corridors, and unskippable presentation cutscenes.
