I have noticed this trend for quite some time and, as expected, it's only getting worse.

CD Projekt also bends the knee as it was painfully obvious from the Cyberpunk 2077 character creation cringe and some fealty paying moments in the game now and then, within reason I may say. But the game was still attacked for being racist and not inclusive enough. Because it's never enough, once you give an inch to these creeps they will always come for more.

This is what happens when freaks who not only hate video games and gamers but humanity itself are put in charge.

I recommend to vote with your wallet and abstain from buying such tainted games or, if you feel that you must, then wait for them to reach the bottom of the bargain bin.

Unlike the other posters, I actually read it and complaining the lead artist has a "male gaze" (when the lead artist turned out to be female) or complaining "This character has unrealistic beauty" when it's a scan of real-life model is exactly the perfect personification of the current social media malaise where people have already made up their minds to be outraged over something in advance, then don't even go looking for "outrage fuel" anymore, they literally just make up assumptions to fit their pre-conceived political biases for those cheap likes on Farcebook, Twatter, and InstaRage...

In a way I'm glad I own NOLF on disc, because if that were made today it would suffer from the same brain-dead "criticism" (as a reminder - Cate Archer's likeness, Motion Capture and even promotional materials was based off of model Mitzi Martin...) There's no "left vs right" wing in this. It's just stupefaction.

Something that right-wingers don't get is that the issue is entirely when the barely dressed characters are skewed towards one gender only. The people who complain about it are tired of loading up a game and seeing the women dressed in bikinis while the men are fully covered. If the game existed in a world setting where the male gender has gone extinct and women have figured out to sustain humanity without men, having the barely dressed characters skewed towards one gender only wouldn't be an issue.

This is why the people who have issues with things like bikini armor don't have issues with Hades. Even in the linked articles images, there's shirtless Poseidon. Dionysus in this game looks like he's ready to toss aside what little he's wearing and fornicate with absolutely anyone that showed up to his party. It isn't just Aphrodite walking around naked, using her hair to hide her naughty bits from the gaze of pervy boys.

The issue is not how much clothes females (or males for that matter) have in games.

It is mainly that feminine straits even in faces is apparently not welcome anymore. Everything must look androgynous and/or trans, even faces.

As for "why aren't there more nude men in magazines and ads, why only women?", probably because seeing nekkid men doesn't seem to entice women that much to e.g. buy more this and that, or play games with nekkid men in them. If nekkid men sold lots of goods to women, then most certainly it would be used to sell more products to women. (I personally don't care for nekkid women in my games, that is not why I buy games, but I do wish women in the games would generally look feminine, just like real women do in real life).

Generally speaking, most women seem to be turned on by different things that just seeing pictures of nekkid muscular men with big dingelidongs.

It is odd to think that nowadays in movies and TV series you see more feminine looking females than in video games because the former still use mostly real-life actors, ie. real humans who look like real people. It is specifically games where this "nothing must look feminine or masculine anymore" has mostly taken over the industry.

So very strange indeed.

Because I think this is more of a case of ideal versus realistic body standards. Most of those non-androgynous female Pokemon characters have unrealistic and completely unobtainable body shapes. This is especially true for anyone with morbidly obese fat girl hip bones. Yes, I really am talking about the bones themselves being far too big for the person to meet acceptable beauty standards and not actual body fat.

What you're calling androgynous look like girl characters with more realistically obtainable waistlines.

And this is where I need to remind that while Pokemon is a game with young children in mind as the target audience. It's better for young girls if Pokemon isn't yet another world setting where only hot girls are allowed to exist because they are being trained to measure their society worth entirely by their looks and not what they will accomplish.
