newentropy: BK-appreciate the input but this is not Playtonic's doing. The patch has been made available and it's GOG that have to distribute said patch to us. That they're holding it up for some reason is not the fault of Playtonic. Anyways, I'm even tired of posting here about it at this point. I'm beginning to think we may never get a proper patch.
Terrible customer service.
How do you know it's GOG's doing? From what we have been told devs can now push out updates themseves via Galaxy which then GOG makes available via standalone installers for site users. The patch isn't currently on Galaxy. They zero reason to hold up the patch for Galaxy users because Galaxy patches are untested due to rollback. They only reason patches get held up is for testing for standalone installers and technical issues, so unless the patch broke something it would not be held up. So what makes you think it's GOG? If Playtonic hasn't provided the patch, there is nothing GOG can do about it.
Has Playtonic said they have made the patch available to GOG? I don't believe they have... but I could be wrong. They can't take the patch from Steam or anywhere else, it has to come directly from the developer.
IF you are refering they meant GOG when they said " "It's been held up by a last minute issue - we're told it's aiming for a midweek release" this doesn't mean they meant GOG. A support person for Playtonic probably meant they have been told that by Playtonic upper managment or devs working on the game.
GOG has nothing to do with patches other than testing them for standalone installers and putting on the site. Slight delays for site patches are always due to testing or issues with packaging the patch for standalone installers, which again does not impact Galaxy. Major delays between GOG and Steam are typically always caused by the developers not sending GOG the recent patches.
So unless you have something where Playtonic specifically said they sent the patch to GOG, which they may have but I haven't seen it... then you are laying the blame at the wrong company here.
