erwin87: Hi Guys !
I became a fan of playing games in solo , so far I've done it with M&M 6-9, Wizardry 8 and BG 2.
I would like to try with Wizards and warriors.
Has any of you tried this ? I would be extremely thankful for some tips/ advices/ info about what were the feelings of playing like this.
:-)
i did it a few years ago and i am currently doing it again. It's not really hard but you might want to reduce the enemy spawning rate in the beginning to not being overwhelmed by hordes of worgurs or bats in the first few levels. Don't worry, you will level up pretty quick since the XP for enemies are no longer divided between 6 characters.
Try to join as many guilds as possible early on to get access to training. You can just start the training for a new class, join a guild that class has access to and then cancel the training (and lose the money, but who cares...). You will keep the guild membership.
I'm currently playing a solo elf, started with Wizard and at level 11 changed to Ranger (to get vine spells for "cure poison" before entering the serpent temple) and plan to switch to a class with access to spirit magic (Paladin? Monk? not sure) next to get access to healing spells. After that - not sure.
There was a bug with an overflowing list of skills. So when you leveled up, you could no longer assign points to skills that were scrolled out of the window. I am not sure if the bug was fixed, but to be on the safe side, it might be a good idea to restrict your skills to the absolute necessary ones (e.g. there is no need to learn all weapon types)
All in all, I found it a lot easier than playing wizardry 8 solo.
