What model of Atom CPU?

Just curious.

Atlantico: What model of Atom CPU?

Just curious.
I don't know, any?
Or are you asking me what I have?
I have two computers with Atom CPUs, one is a dual core and one is a quad core, but that's irrelevant cause I don't have the game yet (I will be able to buy it hopefully in a couple of months at most.
I was just curious, thankfully it is turn based so....

Any Atom? No, no it won't. Some Atom? Maybe, just maybe.

How is my question irrelevant if you don't have the game yet. If you had the game and already tested, well then it would be irrelevant.

Assuming you have Atoms of the latest generation, there is a *slight* chance you may be able to run the game, on the lowest graphics settings using the HD2500 graphics thingy, but CPU wise.. no Atom meets the minimum requirements for the game.

That being said, it may still run. At 15 frames per second, but still.

I am glad we understand each other.

Here the thing, the quad core one I have, has the HD4000 or whatever it is called that is with the CPU. BUT, it has only 2GB of RAM since it is a tablet lol.
My other has a dual core (which might be a problem), but has a dedicated 7410 or something like that which should run it, also 4GB of RAM.

I was curious if anyone with an Atom CPU based PC had tried it. 15fps doesn't sound bad, at all.

Apparently the game can be somewhat likely to crash if you have less than 4GB of RAM, because it wants all 4GBs for itself. Well, good luck with your experiment.

The game is very poorly optimized. I would not want to even try it on a notebook mobile CPU, which is only about 25 percent slower then a desktop version. Let alone a much slower atom CPU.

Thanks for reminding me this.
I got the game and will try it today.

Good luck, make sure you apply both patches and the patch 2 hotfix.

I am downloading now the game but the speed is tragic. 48m remaining for a 2GB file...
To be safe, don't expect the test today.
...and I thought the lack of updates in this thread was because your Atom exploded from the effort :D;)
I spent 1 day downloading the game.

Then I installed the game on my quad core atom tablet.
Only to have the game crasg with a runtime error after the party selection. 2GB of ram might be responsible for that.

Will try tomorrow on the dual core atom, it has 4GB of ram, but 32bit XP...
lol
ok, I have news.
the system has an Atom D2550 CPU, 4GB of RAM, XP32, 256GB SSD, a DVDRW(just messing with you), and for GPU it has onboard a Radeon 7410.
The game installed and patched ok.
The game run and I started a new game. Mind you I haven't played the game on my main PC yet.
Now, at first the performance wasn't that good. I checked the options and texture resolution was eighth and everything was off. The game was running full screen and the resolution option showed 1024x768. motion blur on, everything else off.
The game was very slow, but playable. I was ready to accept that.
BUT I didn't.
I went to the options again and tried to change a few things. The "tick" boxes are awful cause I wasn't sure when something was checked or it was checked for the opposite.
ANYWAY, I turned off motion blur and I made sure I changed the resolution to 720p Yes, that's higher in theory. BUT, the thing is I am pretty sure the game was not running at 1024x768 as it said in the box.
With these new settings, ie motion blur off and resolution at 720p, the game runs fine. Sure it's not great, but it is far more than tolerable/playable. It's just an ugly (low res textures, shadows off etc) visual show, but it runs just fine.
Dual core atom ftw. lol

I applaud your efforts to run the game on the lower settings. I just hope it can be enjoyable for you on a portable computer. In my experience gaming on notebooks/netbooks is horrible.

I used to play Half-life mods somewhat competitively on a computer that would barely give me 20 FPS at the lowest settings and it was pretty fun so I dont doubt that playing at low settings can be fun. But that combined with the limited display and controls of notebook/netbook just seems like a recipe for disappointment.

Regardless, good luck and happy scavenging in the wastes :P

Impressive! Nice work.

I play the game on a 8-core CPU and a 3GB GPU and I also turn off motion blur. It just makes the game *feel* slower.

Motion blur is a bad thing in general, I don't know that it has any particular use except to mask the 30fps limit on many consoles. I don't know, I just turn it off. Games look and feel far better without it, apparently from the Atom to the FX8350
