I hope someone can help me with this? When installing the game, a window comes up and says, all the file should be in the same directory. Then it asks what directory PART 2 is in.

All the files are in the same directory.

I downloaded the files 3 and 4 times.

I tried putting the files in 2 directories.

Anyone know what it needs?

Thanks

My backup installer works just fine in Win10 Pro. Does the error come up when the installer is checking the files integrity, or does it pass that and appear when it is actually installing the game?

I'm using win 7 64 bit.

It happens immediately after asking "English" before installation starts.

Thanks

If it is a OS issue, I have no way to test it. You might want to wait for someone else with Win 7 to come along, but I doubt that it could be.

In any case, the only way I have been able to make an error like you describe appear (see attached image for comparison), is by renaming one of the .bin files to an incorrect name.

Please check that the file names were not changed from the following (for the latest full installer). File sizes included for reference of which name corresponds to which file:

setup_titan_quest_-_anniversary_edition_2.8b_(31356).exe , 920,296 bytes
setup_titan_quest_-_anniversary_edition_2.8b_(31356)-1.bin , 4,294,053,886 bytes
setup_titan_quest_-_anniversary_edition_2.8b_(31356)-2.bin , 2,527,002,590 bytes

This is strange. The file names are exactly the same. The files size is not?
The exe file I have is 899kb
the -1.bin 4,193,412kb
the -2.bin 2,467,776kb

I have downloaded the exe and -1.bin 4 times now. the other files 3 times.
Don't see the point in downloading it again unless there is another update.

Those sizes are all right. You will see the ones I posted if you go to Properties (right click menu on each file) in the "Size:" field. The ones you posted, as seen in Explorer's colums, are rounded to the nearest Kilobyte (the size in bytes divided by 1024)

Don't know if you are using your browser or Galaxy to download the files. Maybe try with the GOG downloader ( https://www.gog.com/downloader ). I have a connection full of troubles, and the GOG downloader has never failed to recognize when the downloaded file has an error caused by the connection.

It also allows to pause and resume the downloads at any point, and it does not re-download anything if the file already present is exactly the same as the one you are trying to download (by using checksums for portions of the file if I'm not mistaken).

You can use that last feature to check if the files you already downloaded are correct. You just need to make sure to set the correct download folder in the settings of the GOG downloader (I have set it to the same as the Galaxy downloads folder, which is D:\GOG\!Downloads for me) and put the files inside another folder named titan_quest_anniversary_edition within it.

If you are not sure how to do all that, simply use the GOG downloader to download one of the small patches for Titan Quest (for example the one for 2.8a to 2.8b is only 3 Mb) and the program will create the folder for you.
Patch download URL:
gogdownloader://titan_quest_anniversary_edition/en1patch0

Once it completed downloading, press the small circle with the magnifying glass next to it and an Explorer window of that folder will open. You can then place the installer files you already have inside that one and use the following URL to try and re-download them:
gogdownloader://titan_quest_anniversary_edition/installer_win_en

If it has to download them again, it means there was some error in them, if not, they are correct. If they are correct and they still do not work, you'll probably have to contact GOG support.

--- edit ---
The forums do not create a correct link for the gogdownloader:// URLs ... <sigh>

Thank you for all the time you've taken with this. Sorry to say, I don't understand how to get/activate/use/find GOG downloader. Seems to me I used it years ago, but have not seen it in a long white. The instructions says to go to your account, click on a game and click more. I have no "more". There is no option to use anything except galaxy or the links they offer.

I tried galaxy, I don't care for it.

EDIT: Found MORE. will download and see what happens. Thanks!

EDIT #2: The address wasn’t understood

Firefox doesn’t know how to open this address, because one of the following protocols (gogdownloader) isn’t associated with any program or is not allowed in this context.

You might need to install other software to open this address.

Ah, sorry, I did not check the downloader page. It seems there is a bit of misalignment going on and the buttons to access the download are partially or totally obscured by the graphics, depending on the browser or platform you are accessing the page from.

Here you got the direct download link for the GOG downloader setup for Windows:
http://static.gog.com/download/d3/stable/Setup_Downloader_3.6.0_stable.exe

It worked! Thank you so much for taking the time to work this out! Ran into a strange glitch with "Save My Horse" where the boar kept flying above the battle, but reloaded and it went away. But, it works!!

Thanks again for your time to help me out!

No problem. Glad to see it's working.
