Hi, first time using the forums here, so sorry if I do something wrong.

Anyway, I'm currently looking at buying the game so I can finish the series off (and replay it again probably). I can buy it either on Steam or here (I don't want to use the grey market for this game).

The thing that's confusing me is that the game on Steam is $60 USD, coming to about $80 AUD, while the game on GoG is $68.80 USD (using the site's price setting), and comes to 89.99 AUD.

So my question is, why does the GoG version have regional pricing (I know it's "technically" off-set by store credit bonus, but it's not the same), yet the Steam version does not? I would very much prefer the DRM free version out of principle, and I'm given to understand that CDPR and GoG are linked somehow so more direct funding for them, but the 8-10 dollar gap is a bit confusing.

P.S. Sorry if I answer a bit late. Was gonna download it overnight tonight and left it a bit late.
I would recommend buying on GOG for several reasons:

1) More of the price you pay goes to the developers. Steam takes a huge cut of the profits where as GOG is owned by the same company that makes Witcher 3.

2) There is a price guarantee with GOG that if the cost is higher than the US price, you will be refunded in GOG credit.

3) If regional pricing pisses you off (as it does me), just log into GOG using a US ip address (or any other region for that matter) and buy the game at that regions price. Either way, more money will go to the developers by using GOG, and you will get a totally DRM free way to play the game.
Question, where does one check his store credit? Where is it located?

In the orders and settings part of your account.

Great, but where exactly, i can't find it anywhere.
Maybe it doesn't show if it's less or zero? In which case i guess regional pricing didn't apply to my country.

It only shows if you actually have store credit. It's at the top, above orders history. See attached image.

Thanks. Guess i don't have any credit then, oh well.
Buy at Gog as with the sales you'll do better than you would at Steam.
And it's DRM free at Gog,prices are better in the long run at Gog.

Agreed, in the long run it's much better at GoG.
Steam has that client no one likes, but they keep shoving it down your neck, at least GoG's is optional. Nothing beats DRM-free.

If everything else don't interest you just remember that by buying it here you will support the developers directly, whereas Steam takes, what 50 percent cut ?
Alright, you guys have convinced me, I'll go for GoG.

How do you do this?

Edit: actually, it might only be worth it if I can get around the region pricing. There aren't really any other games I'd consider buying on GoG at the moment, sale or no sale.

Edit 2: Nevermind, Prince of Persia will do when it comes on sale again.

Well, let's hope it stays optional.I'm a bit weary as to the way the Gog DL'er is being not worked on.
One thing that wasn't quite answered, why does GoG have regional pricing on this game but Steam doesn't?

Gog policy?

Aren't they linked with CDPR though? And haven't GoG stated they're against region pricing? Unless you're saying it's their policy to enforce regional pricing regardless of anything else, which I don't think is part of their policy.

Usually the boss says, you do it or find some where else to work.Odviously someone in control
has said DO IT,and saying things like they're against it is all a con.
But irregardless of who said DO IT is irrelevant.
