caltic0: Uninstall your x64 and x86 C++ Redistributable the give it a fresh install, I had the same problem and that fixed it.
Azulath: Just out of curiosity - fresh install for C++ stuff or witcher 3?
fresh install. So go to the Microsoft website and get the installers for x64 and x86, completely uninstall your current C++ then install with the new installers.
Solomace: Hi all,
Thanks for responding.
So I've decided to buy a new SSD and re-install Windows 7. All this to play the game eh :(.
I've just downloaded Witcher 3 via GOG galaxy and ... Now it just flashes once when I press play and then nothing.
I've just rolled back the patch to the first patch and the same problem.
When I click the Witcher Icon again, it says the game is already running????
I'm using the latest ZOTEC 980TI Extreme AMP drivers and now I'm at a complete loss as to what the issue is.
Is it time for me to raise a ticket?
Been gaming on the PC for over 20 years and the last time I had a problem like this was trying to get Wing Commander 2 to work on my 386!!!
Will try removing the x64 and x86 C++ Redistributable and re install and see if that helps.
Anyone any more advise please?
Cheers.
As I said in reply to Azulath, I would grab new installers for the x86 and x64 version of C++ Redistributables. completely uninstall you current C++ Redistributables then installs the new ones. I had this issue a few days ago and managed to fix it after looking throughout the internet.
