Please tell us this is not really the case, why should the pc have to wait for Microsoft and Sony to say it's ok to release the patch. That's not really acceptable.
Just imagine that hate wave on forums if PC would get the patch much earlier than consoles. Besides, I don't think it's just a matter of certification and payment for update. It looks like the patch is still under development, otherwise we would get much more informations about the changes.

Personally, I'd love to get this patch even today. I can't push the main story line forward because one side quest is blocked by a bug. However, I can wait if more time means more fixes... or more polished fixes.
even if patch is still under development - when it is ready consoles will wait certification procedure - and pc too, unfourtunately =(
Do we have a source on this or are we lamenting something for the sake of lamenting? If I remember correctly PC received 1.05 before consoles and consoles never even got a 1.06 patch. No reason to think CDPR would change their MO now, unless someone has a source they could link. I fully expect they'll release it when it is good and ready for this platform. Let's not cry wolf.

Your source is bullshit. Quoting a moderator from CDP forum:

"Moderator: Observant readers may notice a lot of posts that aren't here anymore. Trying to start a platform war, for example by attempting to blame consoles for delays in the release of a PC patch, is so far against the forum rules and customs that:

Say it once, and your post is gone.
Say it twice, and your account is gone.

You have been warned. No disputes on the subject are invited.
"
actually moderator didnt say anything - rather that their usual - "we ban everyone who thinks differently, because we can"

and this is developer's post.

well i dont understand any whine - thats usual way multiplatform games are handled, yes we are held back, but as a pc masterrace we should just wait - eventially pc features will make our version shine (mods, tweaks, etc )no matter how pesky consoles try =\

Huh? What multiplatform games have you been playing? Every multiplatform game I've played recently has had the PC patches come out as soon as they're ready and the console ones come out as soon as Sony/MS allow them.

I'm not trying to start any kind of console war with this post. It's just that the pc has received the other patches when they were ready as pc doesn't need that certification process. The rumour going round is that this time the pc patch will be held back and released at the same time. In my (and I'm sure most pc players will feel the same) it's not really fair to hold back anything from the pc system that is ready just to wait for people on the consoles end to test it with those systems.

well - the pc patch comes the same day that console ones, that is a fact- and it is known that consoles have some certifitacion - so people assumed that pc get patch delayed.
Thats may not be true - that can also mean that pc get more time polishing - devs will dedicate more time to us, while waiting for console approval.

That is one way to look at it but I doubt that will be the case. The patch must be fully complete to send it for console verification. So if they are wanting parity (which is what the are doing with this) then the pc version will be in the same state.

They may start work on another patch or more content but I doubt they will continue to work on the pc patch while the consoles are certifying as there would be no point, it will be finished.
Where is the information about them releasing on the same day?
It is linked above. One of the developers said it in the steam forum. But here is the post:

We're working on it, currently we don't have any confirmed ETA as we want to release it in the same time on all platforms (PC, Xbox One, PS4). But we want to make it live as soon as possible, so we can get back to remaining free DLCs.

Cheers

Hm, I wonder if MS and Sony are compensating them for this. Seems kinda weird that they'd just hold back the PC version for no reason.

I see, it's a bit further down in the steam thread so I missed it.

That's what my cynical brain thought too :-) maybe waiving the certification fee if you hold back the pc version so it's not got more features.

I agree that it's not fair to hold back the PC patch arbitrarily just to sync it with consoles. However, I'd also have to agree that console users will find it unfair that PC users get the patch early and they have to wait. This means that no matter what choice is made - it is unfair for someone and some group of people will be upset about it.

The only thing guaranteed is that someone somewhere will be upset no matter what is decided. At that point, they might as well roll a dice.
