CannedPlayer: The MOD you need is in your brain, not in the game.
YES, the damage is higher in this game, but if this was made to keep people from going "ASSASSINS CREED", it´s ok for me.
I finished the game without problems. People cant be so lousy when playing. Use this to force you to not make too much stupid moves.
Wow hyper critical (didn't realize I was "so lousy"), guess we can't all be uber-players!!!!
Seriously it's not about playing AC style (although their navigation and combat systems would make this the best game EVER) it is the simple acknowledgment that sometimes you'd open a door and Geralt would do his 3 step shuffle on the landing outside the door, go to far and fall 8 feet and die for god's sake.
That's not a reflection on people's ability that's just game mechanics combined with the fact we are controlling an animated character. The alternative is to toggle walk on all the time and open every door as if it is going to explode. In the forest areas I have been running (impatiently) to get somewhere, run through a bush and fallen 6 - 8 feet and either lost all my health or died. That's not lousy gaming and the effect is way to high a punishment to your health given the distance you fell.
If you read my previous posts you would also have seen the example I gave and you should have experienced it yourself in the quest where you hunt the Chort, you have no alternative to "jump" down into the hole and lose half your health.
If your going to make me fight Harpies on a 6 feet wide ridge and be able to dodge and roll to avoid there attacks, either fall damage over cliffs etc needs to be lower or the game needs to invisibly hand rail the area.
Back to play again and hopefully not be so lousy at it :-(
DocDoomII: Talking about rolling, is my Geralt the only one that likes to roll on its own when going down almost every flight of stairs?
Maybe not all of them but yes many!!!
