I turned on dx11 executable and the game runs much better. On dx12 with ultra + and rt off i got 45 -55 fps in novigrad, now with only ultra + obviously, I get a steady 60 fps with occasionnal dips in the same area.
Game isn't running good for me either.. hovers between 42 - 65 fps with RT effects on (even with selective options).

With RT off, its like 60 - 120 fps at 1920 x 1080, but it is a stutter fest.. can't play it.

GSYNC and Fullscreen mode set in graphics options helped cure majority of stutters, but it still does it. Its like you look in one direction 120 fps, turn around 50 fps..

3060 TI, i5 9600K, 16GB RAM, Windows 11, Game on Sata SSD, latest nvidia drivers..

JakobFel: If anything, all of this has proven to me that it's a good thing CDPR is ditching REDengine for Unreal.

Bomimo: At this point, they should just close the studio and hand off all IP to the new Witcher studio that comprises the veterans they chased off during CP2077 development. It's painfully obvious that the only ones left at CDPR at this point are power-hungry cunts and a shitton of talent-less, pretentious, hipster boot-lickers.
LMAO - thanks for laugh dude. You're hilarious

Lainkml: You always have the problem with everything, my game is running smooth, with I7 6700, gtx 1660, 144hz free-sync/g-sync monitor and 16 gb ram. This update its upgrade the witcher for most stable game and best game ever. If you wanna blame this game everytime, go play a Assasins Creed: Unity or other Ubi/EA/Rockstar Games who not have support and have a lot of bugs/problem. First you in review compliments the game, then when you play it you blame it. You know what it is:
Its your hypocrisy.
Calm down, fan-boi.
Same problem as others. 5900x + RTX 3080 and 64gb RAM 3600mhz running on current version Win10, getting 50-60fps in 2k resolution on uber+ and DLSS set to Quality (performance gives a couple fps only). Is the fix coming?

I would like 60 fps, but I've managed to make my game playable / bearable to me personally.. game looks gorgeous.

All RTX on, everything set to high, DLSS on quality.

Nvidia driver control panel > VSYNC ON > GSYNC ON (exclusive full screen) > Set Witcher 3.exe Max FPS to 40.

No more stutters.. hopefully we get fixes so I can bump to 60.

My specs:

3060 TI, i5 9600K, 16GB RAM, Windows 11, Game on SATA SSD, latest nvidia drivers..
Was super psyched for this and partly influenced me to buy a 3070, which, sad to say, is not enough card for this update.
I think they need to gauge what rtx hardware most people realistically own right now and maybe tune down the GPU demand by 30% or so. Optimize it, remove a little rtx or whatever, but this shouldn't be primarily for people buying $1k+ cards.

N3CR0M4NC3R: Just to add to the comments i just did a fresh install as the next gen update breaks my mod list,
Hardware is an overclocked i7 7700k with 16gb of ddr4, 12gb rtx3080 and the game installed onto a samsung nvme

At native 4k with dlss PERFORMANCE with all raytracing on and settings pushed to ultra+ i am averaging around 45fps with dips to around 30,
oddly CYBERPUNK runs better than this with everything pushed upto max at 4k with dlss

very weird

Also my 4k monitor aint anything special, its an old 60hz acer predator xb281hk (only bought for gsync)
Yeah RT is poorly applied. As soon as I enable RT my frames drop from 145 to 55 while still in the option menu. This is without even enabling the separate RT options. DLSS and other options make no difference. I have an RTX 3080.
Sorry everyone for my latest post on this topic but i see you was right about performance but only on DX12 driver technology. If somebody feel bad about that what im say in latest post, i really sorry. BTW, about performance:

Re-implementation of Raytracing and DLSS/FSR for DX11 i think its better option then stay on DX12 (who been young driver and still unstable - look at Borderlands 3/Dying Light 2).
DX12 - Its new driver technology but still young and unstable then DX11 who been upgraded for 10 years (idk about that, sorry for mistake). Witch every technology used on DX12 - i mean FSR2, DLSS3 and other types i have only stable 30 fps on the same settings like in DX11
DX11 - its better and stil good perfomance driver, when im play WItcher 3 Next-Gen in cutscenes i have 110-120 FPS, on gameplay which huge amount of NPC/less amount of npc (cities/villages) i have stable 55-80 fps)
Guys I found a performance fix for the latest 4.0 patch for PC.

I'm running 3090 and 5800x3d and got 82% GPU usage usually.

I was trying out some thing and found the nvidia hairworks seems bugged.

Solution:

Disable hairworks and you gain like 10fps. performance improves as the GPU runs at 99% usage without hairworks.

DX12 is not a driver, it's an API and it's not new, it was released in 2015 and the RT compatible version in 2018. With all due respect, you have no idea what you're writing and you look ridiculous trying to defend this, what it is indefensible. There are people here with graphics more than twice as powerful as yours and better processors that have problems, you are not fooling anyone.
I downloaded the game on my computer and on PlayStation as well. I will admit, I giggled as I downloaded the PS4 version first and logged in but then I saw there was a Play Station 5 version and downloaded that and removed the PS4. Extremely confusing but I digress. Back to the PC.

I have the following system:

1. Asus ROG Maximus XIII Extreme Glacial.
2. 11900K all core at 5 GHz
3. 64GB G-Skill Royal Trident
4. 1 TB Samsung 980 NVME Pro x 5 + another 16TB WD Reds. The game is installed on a 7000 MB/s drive.
5. 2 x 27 inch MSI QD Monitors @165Hz 1440p resolution.
6. EKWB Nvidia RTX 3080TI
7. Be Quiet Dark Power Titanium 1200W.

The short version: the game does not provide me with the experience I should get given my computer.
It is clear now more than ever that CDPR has joined the broken dev game club and shall no longer be the standard in the industry.

I had no issues running HairWorks before this upgrade, so I wonder if I'll get this same boost?
