Kalfear: You know, maybe its my warped and disturbed sence of humor at work here!

But how awsome would it have been...

If upon successfully ploughing all the woman you could

YOU GOT A SEX CARD AS A REWARD!

Come on, true Witcher fans would totally appreciate that :)

Like a big group shot of all the women togather and naked :)
Put it on the mod request list, and maybe someone who can actually draw (I can't!) will make one. :-)

I know right! Like in real life, after I plough a woman I take out my polaroid. That's not just me right?

revial: so as to better emphasize this stuff in the next game.
Bah, no sexual encounter was anymore funny or enjoyable then Geralt, trudging through a cave with a child in toe, coming upon Abbigal preforming a ritual while being hunted by the towns folk.

And at that moment in time they strip naked and bump ugly while the kid has his back to them while plugging his ears so he doesnt hear anything (Id assume anyways).

LOL, thats the VERY DEFINITION of Quickie :)

I loved the random sex in TW1

I gotta be honest, I dont much care about the sex scenes in TW2 (though Ves (if she didnt have the tats) would be knock down georgous). I like the flirting and the sex is just completion of the successful flirting in my book!

I did find TW2 to be less flirty in that regard.
I knbow its just fluff but its enjoyable fluff!
As in real life,
The chase is quite often more enjoyable then the prize.

And there was a couple peasent girls In Flotsan I REALLY wanted to flirt with, truth be told, but that dialog option wasnt there!
I'm going to assume you somehow managed to miss the entire point of my long post, based on your reply. ;p

To simplify it:

Geralt's story in these games looks like it'll be ultimately about reuniting with Yennefer and dealing with the relationship issues between her, Triss, and himself; something that's brewed all throughout the Witcher books. Constant random sex would be a big distraction from that, and that type of activity in the first Witcher game was not very representative of Geralt at all. CPR got away with it because one could say, "amnesia", as well as the story as laid out in the first game hadn't yet let us know that he's going after Yen.

I know the sex cards and constant romping was loved by some players (hey, I spent an ungodly amount of time exhausting the Sile conversations over two different acts to see if she'd fall for Geralt), but let's try to understand why that no longer fits with the narrative as the story continues to unfold. :)

If your reply was directed to me (you didnt say) I got your point, didnt feel it needed commenting on!

We all know what the story playing out as.
You missed a couple of important aspects in your conclussion but ill leave those as spoilers in nature!

But your wrong about the random sex not being apart of the story!

Im assuming you never read any of the stories revolving around Geralt?

So ill simplify it:

I was so taken by the first game I rushed out and found/ordered what ever was reprinted in english and then asked the old witcher forum if there was anymore.

Random sex is very much in character regarding Geralt and I wouldnt hold my breath on it lessening in #3 or beyond.

One of the first stories I read regarding Geralt had him having a random sex encounter with a barmaid. I dare say there was as much written about that as there was about the actual plot line for the short story.
The next story was about him ploughing some female farmer. Oh yeah, he ended a curse as well when he found time.

Random sex is very much apart of the characterization of Geralt and will always be apart of the narrative!

One thing you need to realize with the Witcher is American "sensibilities" are not at work here and do not apply. Even more so when you come to terms that CDProjekt is not a North American company and thus has no political agendas weighting on them. So dont try to apply them as they not going to come to happen.

Sex is always going to play a big role in this enviroment/storyline because thats the enviroment its based on.

I dont know if you noticed yet but other then the virgin hero (I forget name now), Shanni in part 1, and female sorceresses, women in The Witcher play 2 roles mostly. Wives and whores (sometimes both). This isnt Western Fantasy where women have equal rights and every 2nd one attains some seat of power!

Im watching "Game of Thrones" right now on HBO (loving it btw) and the contrast between the two sets of writing is amazing to me. In Game of Thrones, woman hold so much power and influence.

This is not Game of Thrones.

So you have your opinion and I respectfully disagree.

Sex will always play a big role in this setting and will continue to and its got absolutely nothing to do with some players likeing the sex cards or not and everything to do with what this game is based on and where its being made (and the atmosphere and pressures from that region).

At worse they censor The Witcher 3, like they did The Witcher 1, for the American market. But I doubt that as this game made it uncensored and this game was 1000 times more explict with nudity and vulgarity then TW1 was.

PS: Just to be clear, im not saying this is how women should be treated or even protrayed. Im just saying that this is how they are protrayed in the writing and setting the Witcher franchise is based on, and thats not going to change for the third game, the forth game, or any game after that unless CDProjekt suddenly become subservant to American censorship.

LOL, read a post somewhere else were a female player refused to play The Witcher 2 because they didnt offer up a female hero for her to play!

How silly!
Quit burning your bra, lighten up and enjoy the fantasy setting for what it is!

oh and ps: I still want a special card as a acheivement if you manage to bed all of the women in your game :)

KneeTheCap: Maybe she's not into ploughing :)

Manou: I disagree after seeing her dream :D
Yeah, she definitely dreams of being ploughed by multiple males, but not sure if you get to or not. Didn't save her at the end so I don't know.

I think that's a peasant's dream, you know, he dreams about ploughing Saskia :)

Grimnir19: Because since shorty is insecure he probably keeps telling all women he meets that he has a big package and that it is unrelated to his nickname.
avatar
Corylea: That's what I took it to mean, too, that he brags, not that Triss was doing him.
Oh, she was doing him. If you knew anything about women you would not think otherwise.

We demand official response/clarification from developers, the mystery is killing us!

I ploughed a succubus today B)

I guess that's better then suck-u-busing a plough ?

Just Me,
Hakiem / Tim
Vess if you manage to best her in combat.
Philippa not putting out I understand (though, she would if absolutely necessary), but Sile? Major disappointment, and they did lead you along with her.

And there was nary a prostitute to be seen in the last act! Some grand meeting that turned out to be! Even the bearded she-elf wasn't interested.

dbnortheast: Even the bearded she-elf wasn't interested.
But...would you have wanted to if the option was available? ;p

Bearded women wearing dresses always skeeves me out, and that particular one was no exception!

Anyways, who knows. If you got the persuasion check passed and helped Sile out in Act 3, maybe she shows gratitude in Witcher 3. Now there's an example of your imported saving having a meaningful purpose. ;p

That beard was clearly glued on!
