Cyjack: If I had ever really seen much convincing evidence that "episodic" content was actually episodic, and not simply code for "inferior expansions", then maybe. In valve's case, those episodes take so freaking long to put out, its hilarious to call them episodic, and when they do come out finally, they cost the same as full expansions traditionally cost, and never satisfy for length. Are they nice little mini adventures? Sure. But for the price and how long it takes to make them, I dont see the value.
No, all in all, I suspect if you're working on expansion material at all, it doesn't take *that* much longer to put together something more substantial. I'd rather they just take their time, and put together something really meaningful, like Throne of Bhaal, and charge a fair expansion price for them, like 30 bucks or so.
I don't want to see nickel and dime-ing us with quickly churned out DLC garbage a la Mass Effect 2 or Dragon Age. TW2 was crafted with love. I dont want to see it sullied with expansion content that is anything less. Take your time, make it count, I say.
im not saying that at all. the way i see it 1 town/chapter that they can focus on from the game at $15 is great. $30 tho is just a bit much for an episode of something. $15 seems the right price for a chapter worth of content. if you weigh it against the rest of the game.
Scrubwave: No, no, no, I don't want any hats in TW2.
we already talked about that.
and for 50$ that hat is a steal since its going to be the best hat ever. it will have hookers. and alcohol. and things that geralt really likes
