No, no, no, I don't want any hats in TW2.

Cyjack: If I had ever really seen much convincing evidence that "episodic" content was actually episodic, and not simply code for "inferior expansions", then maybe. In valve's case, those episodes take so freaking long to put out, its hilarious to call them episodic, and when they do come out finally, they cost the same as full expansions traditionally cost, and never satisfy for length. Are they nice little mini adventures? Sure. But for the price and how long it takes to make them, I dont see the value.

No, all in all, I suspect if you're working on expansion material at all, it doesn't take *that* much longer to put together something more substantial. I'd rather they just take their time, and put together something really meaningful, like Throne of Bhaal, and charge a fair expansion price for them, like 30 bucks or so.

I don't want to see nickel and dime-ing us with quickly churned out DLC garbage a la Mass Effect 2 or Dragon Age. TW2 was crafted with love. I dont want to see it sullied with expansion content that is anything less. Take your time, make it count, I say.
im not saying that at all. the way i see it 1 town/chapter that they can focus on from the game at $15 is great. $30 tho is just a bit much for an episode of something. $15 seems the right price for a chapter worth of content. if you weigh it against the rest of the game.

we already talked about that.

and for 50$ that hat is a steal since its going to be the best hat ever. it will have hookers. and alcohol. and things that geralt really likes

I'd be in favor of an episodic schedule if each were of comparable length and quality to chapters 1-2 of TW2, and additionally released in modest intervals. That's about 10 hours of gameplay, at least in my hands, which I'd gladly pay 5-10€ for.
I hope they pull a Valve and make a Steam wannabe. They have already done that in part, with GOG, but I would love to be able to also buy new games here.

Nah, Valve have not eaten D2D or Impulse, both of which are a pain to buy from, if you live in Denmark. 90% of the time, I get the "This product is not available in your region" shit.

Thats the only reason I have 100+ games on steam.

D2D, impulse, steam, they all take their orders from the publishers.

If the game isn't online on d2d, it's the same thing on steam, why? Because the stupid publisher belives they will earn more money by advocating strong borders on each country, hence why we still are using the retarded region protection on games/movies.

My biggest gripe with steam/itunes etc is that they charge too much money for something that's suppose to be cheaper, as in no cover, no box, no manual (retail edition).

I'll take d2d on steam anyday, why? Because unlike steam you're not FORCED to run steam in order to play their games (hate steamwork games).

also the publishers fault

they would not sell anything on steam if they were getting less money out of it.

True
i think episodic content could be good but only if they have backstories involving Geralt like his tie with yennefer or one of his adventures from the book . or maybe even something involving major events in the witcher universe like battles of sodden and brenna ( event though they may not be directly involve Geralt, not sure bout it , havn't read the books).

On the other hand I dont think episodic content for storyline going on in the games is a good idea. The way they left the story at the end you can see s**tstorm brewing up and i think episodic packs will sort of fizzle it out.
Off Topic, but the quote formatting on the GoG boards is really abyssal. My eyes bounce right off those impenetrable walls of quote blocks.

greenfish: True
That fact about being forced to run steam and be online (if you have not set it to offline mode, while you are online), does not bother me at all.

However, all the games I have been rejected from buying on Impulse and D2D, have been bought on Steam.

The only reason I try to buy from others then Steam, is that fact that I really want more digital distribution options and not less.

My favorite is when your reply ends up within the quotes, despite not having any closed quote tags following it.

Seems to happen most when you are quoting nested quotes, but sometimes it doesn't, so I've yet to figure out exactly what causes it.

And, maybe I'm just old, but at 1920 x 1200 res, the damn forum is small. Avatars, text, etc. :p

Its a feature. The randomness of it is to make it harder to counter. Go into your forum options and set it from hardcore to easy.
