IScorchI: There are those of us who instead of complaining about the game supposedly being consolized are instead playing the game and enjoying the heck out of it.

Honestly, how the hell can you conclude that a game not even released on console, which was developed for PC first, and has features and technologies that a console would not be able to handle without significant optimization and dumbing down a consolized game?!

Sure, the game has its flaws, and I will be the first to point them out so that CDProjekt can fix them quicker (the funny but true "Why I hate this game" thread comes to mind), but the game is awesome and I am having a blast with it. The issues with the game will eventually be fixed if CDProjekt's past handling of game problems are anything to go by (the Enhanced Edition patch for Witcher 1 comes to mind).

Keep doing what you do CDProjekt, a lot of us are behind you all the way.

MysterD: How the heck can any company releasing a PC game these days not allow for customization on the keyboard entirely?
CD Projekt got this right completely w/ The Witcher 1.

Also - didn't we all learn from PC versions of Dead Space 1 and 2 fiasco?
If I wanna put movement keys on Cursors keys b/c I am left-handed, I should be able to.
Same goes for me also should be allowed to use NumPad and Delete Key for key remapping, as well.

Also - how come the X360 Start-Button Main Menu is different from the PC Escape Key's Main Menu?
Would it not have been easier to make them LOOK....exactly the same (like the 360 Menu)?
*totally as not used a gampad in game yet.. rushes to see*

oh looking at it its because.. they have no other way to get to he extra UI listings

RageGT: True. The game needs better inventory management. A "Junk" section to separate them from the rest would be nice. It's a pain scrolling All items to sell heavy junk!

Also a savegame management. I like giving titles to my saves and controlling exactly how many saves I have.

I miss the Sword enhancing animation for the oils and those crypts that gave me the shivers in TW1. Real goosebumps!
Agreed on these points, especially the save game management.
Also, keyboard controls from 'esc' menu. At least so I can read which keys do what [yes I know I have a manual, just would have been nice].
Larger or more prevalent icons on lootable items would be the most helpful.

I've come across what I believe to be quest bugs, but that's hardly unusual for a grande scale rpg.
I have had a fluke where I couldn't reload a save game after death from the Act 1: Kayran. Screen just froze. Had to ctrl-alt-del to 'end process'. Hasn't happend since and there have been no random CTD to speak of.

On the whole, it's been good fun and very challenging. Very in depth journal descriptions and minimal baby sitting through quests. Mind you, it took me a dog's age to find all the cocoons in the forest. Likely due to sheer amount of undergrowth....couldn't see the forest through the trees!

That drove me batty until I started using my medallion more. :p
It's ironic that the two main causes of the "Consolization" of PC games started with the "Dumbed-down" gameplay of Diablo and Microsoft's entry into the console wars..

Think about it, just how many ports were from Microsoft's PC to their own Console the Xbox? The PS2 or the GameCube was not the catalyst because they both relied on their own domestic software development companies, while the XBox had the most prolific PC software company around!

As far as I could see up until that point consoles, and PC games were pretty much separate beasts for the most part.. And just how many Crpgs (not to mention consoles as well) were effected by the overly simplistic play of the legion of Diablo-Clones?..(Hell, even NWN suffered a bit with the dull diablo-styled dungeon crawls) Not saying that Diablo was a crappy game, but all here can agree that when compared with Arcanum, Torment, and Fallout, it's pretty dumbed-down in comparison. Ironic that the cause of such an outcry of the consolization of our favorite platform has been the very origin of it!

This game as compared with Diablo is so far from being consolized that it borders on the absurd!

Really is a extra for hardcore PC gamers from CD Project - I love these guys - You know, tweakin, modding and all Those wonderfull things of PC gaming .You can enjoy all this even before starting the game, tweaking the ini files .

It reverted if you change the language of the game, for example to register the game or other thing . Or if you change other keys with the configurator. It is the pleasure to enjoy PC gaming,

Cd project !! Thanks for giving us a true gaming PC EXPERIENCE! Even by moving this bonus to console gamers, because they can not reverse the axes.

With these small detaills of ambientation , you can feel immersed in the dark world of the game, as a dwarf or an elf, a left-hander or a special, a mouse inverter or owner of a 4:3 monitor ... a socially exclude person , while the silent majority play the game. . The perfect atmosfere to play The Witcher 2 with the classic reminiscences of the magical universe of Sapkowski

i think it started because When people thought Microsoft they thought PC's.. i dunno

but before the Xbox 360 at-least Developers were smart enough to make the games use different UI's and functions enough that both versions had a different feel and worked best for both systems.
Finished this perhaps half-an-hour ago, and I have to say I've added it to my internal list of favorite cRPGs alongside games such as Arcanum, Fallout, Baldurs Gate and Vampire:tMB. It is a very beautiful game, with an intricate and morally grey plot that actually made me agonize over essentially all major plot decisions.

I'll be starting my second playthrough, this time on Hard, later today to see the second storyline.

I'm also very glad to see the changes made between this game and the original, and some of the more stylistically questionable elements removed (Gotta Catch 'Em All Nudity Cards being the foremost offender), and more focus put on the major characters (this is especially true for the character arc of Triss and the relationship between her and Geralt).
The supporting cast was also extremely interesting, with Iorveth, Roche, Saskia, Letho and many more very memorable characters. I also found Geralt himself to be a much more fully developed character this time through, and a thoroughly fantastic one at that.
Not to mention that the game looked fantastic, especially for a game within this genre.

I loved this game, and have only minor nitpicks which I won't bother with here, and would be thrilled to see more content for such a wonderful and dark game as this, especially something like an old school Expansion Pack (*wink wink, nudge nudge*).

CaLeDee: The truth is, some people are just never going to be happy with anything. They will always find something to complain about. How about just enjoying what you've got. You can call that complacency all you want but who wins in the end? The guy sitting there enjoying the hell out of his game, or the guy nitpicking every detail and whining on a forum? PC gamers are pushing devs away from them, and it's a shame.
Simply not true. CDP is the kind of developer that listens what fans say. They really strive to deliver the best gaming experience they can. The EE of TW is the ultimate proof. And I'm sure they will improve TW2 a lot. There are many valid points here, not just nitpicking.

Yes, I know, yet Ironic that I started PC gaming a little bit (Maybe a year) before the Xbox so after then I started playing catch-up! (Due to starting on consoles in 90's then moving to PC in early 2K's!)

i was playing before, not much i was too young for most games, but even the games i did play had quality. and i still do play old games that i can get my hands on and they are just awesome with their ui's
Finished it maybe an hour ago, after three days. Amazing game, truly spectacular. UI issues were annoying and it was silly not being able to drink potions anywhere (I expected to at least be allowed to drink potions outside every combat), but overall it was alive and believable, and the best action RPG to come out in a long time.

I agree, yet I still play my old 16 bit-32 bit game in emulation, and plan to get the PS2/3 after a while as I'm a collector of Video games PC and Consoles alike, though my only beef with the changing gaming climate is that it's becoming too corporate, (EA, is a perfect example a scourge on gaming in general) which is a great concern for me, due to the fact that I'm going to school for graphic design. My plan is to someday work for Bethesda, though I'll take a QA position even!

True, I have been researching differing Gaming companies through glassdoor.com where you can get feedback from anonymous employees who have worked and still work for those companies, and I've yet to see a listing for Zenimax, Bethesda, or even Bethsoft for that matter, however, I do respect that they are the only Gaming company that still is in charge of their own game development/schedule, that and the fact that for a PC game development company that they've STILL have been around since the beginning! But I'm still cautious of their motivation and worse case scenario, I can still use my bachelors degree in plenty of other fields.

they also published brink, i know they did not make it but using their publishing power they should have seen a few red flags and made the devs fix it. but then again they may have been a hands off publisher.
