Spoilers:

So, I have the nekker hearts and eyes as well as the pig hearts and eyes, but the wraith seems to have disappeared. Can anyone help me with this?
I'm not sure if my bug is the same or a different one.

I fight the nekkers outside the ruin, then proceed downstairs. There I see the wraith and followi it in to some room... and nothing happens, and I can't leave it either.

My questlog doesn't update from "defeat the nekkers" before I enter the ruins, should it do that?

Is that the same error you're experiencing?
I got that bug too, Equlan. If you look in that room you're stuck in, there should be a chest with quest items inside up against one of the walls (hold the z key to find it easily).

Then some wraiths will appear which you kill, and the quest will stay bugged and say you THEN have to open up that chest I mentioned before. I just ignored that and carried on, cause the firewall dissapears. All worked out in the end.
(spoilers)

I have this same issue on this quest. I completed the first part of the quest and am back outside with the two merchants, at which point I go back into the asylum to speak to the ghost. But when the ceiling over that room collapses and I jump down, I see the wraith's body on the floor, and I cannot speak to him to complete the quest. It's almost like the falling rubble from the ceiling "killed" the ghost.

Furthermore, reloading earlier saves doesnt seem to fix the problem, as it happens every time. I know I was able to speak to the ghost once, resulting in a battle, but after he killed me and I reloaded, the bug happens in all my saves, even the ones prior to the merchant dialog.

Thanks! I guess the bug's in my eyes :)

Unfortunately I have no idea what's going wrong for those of you, who sound to be having trouble with an actual bug - I had no trouble fighting the wraith. Double-checked your inventories?

Did the boards on the floor in the room where you fought the first two wraiths break open when you return allowing you easy access to the wraiths room? He doesn't appear if you skip that room (yeah, you *can* skip the room) and walk all the way back. If it did, then I'd say you got a bug.

The quest log will not update until you go further in. You need to loot everything in each room. This will make the Ghosts haunting mad and attack you. Defeat them and you may advance the story.
Beware: THEY ARE REALLY DIFFICULT TO KILL, and can one shot you if you let them back stab you. Be prepared for these fights.

I did notice once where he got stuck in a wall, but I was able to make him come out when I talked to him. Note that the body on the floor is *NOT* the ghost, but rather his real body. The Ghost will be wondering around that room, or standing over his corpse.

Yeah, he just wasnt there at all for me. If he was stuck in a wall somewhere, it wasn't apparent. Nor was he there in any of the saves I made after speaking to him the first time.

I fixed it by reloading a save prior to going into the dungeon for the first time, and basically redoing the quest. This time, when I went back in to talk to the ghost, I made a save at the point where he was right in front of me before I spoke to him, in case the encounter went badly again.

My savegame is borked in this quest. I don't think it's anything anybody has encountered.
I've gone in, got the loot from the chest, 2 wraiths appeared, after many-many tries I've finally got them, then went onto the next room, where a guy was hammering his head into the wall.

I've gone and saved the game, then I've realised I cannot control my character. And now every time I reload the save I'm stuck - Geralt wouldn't move... And since there are no auto-saves to go back to and because I'm usually quick-saving, now I've a day or so of gaming to backtrack.

Mighty annoying!

What are the nekker hearts for in this quest?

I must have followed a different path as I never needed those and completed the quest after hearing about the old hospital/going to check it out/finding the guy outside with his lost dog and friend stuck inside.
Went inside and killed the wraiths/got to the ghost at the end.
Went back outside and made my decision as to how to end the quest.

You need nekker's hearts and eyes if you decide to spare the duo from the Nilf ghost. You try to fool the ghost with the fake hearts and eyes.

when the game went to the stage of take RUPERT back to GRIDEYXX, at that time the wraith would go back to somewhere, then he would disappear.
so you must forward the quest ,chose what you do (Either take 2 guys to the wraith OR nekker heart+EYE )and return at once or you will never see him, that means the quest will be stucked.......

Aha, cool, thanks.
Does anybody know a workaround for this?

Tried to search the whole place - nothing. Doesn't seem to be stuck in walls either.
