Anyway, fixed save game system.

There are role-playing games where you can be just anybody, and there are role playing games where you have a definite character with a definite role in a definite world and a definite story. This is the latter; you are confusing it with a generic RPG.

Did you mean to say fix the system, or that patch 1.3 fixed this for you? I'm assuming the former.

That is true, BUT... You'll notice that CDPR is still offering the player the choice of HOW to approach battles in terms of their equipment, abilities and tactics based off the former two. There still needs to be some flexibility on the game's part to allow players to play a game the style that best suits them; otherwise, why not just mandate that "Geralt is a swordsman who drinks potions. He doesn't use bombs or any signs other than Aard in combat because he'd never shown as such in the books. Therefore, all players can only unlock abilities relating to swordsmanship and a few other abilities"?

Anyway, one new thing I would like to see in Patch 1.4: The ability to NAME our save games when we make them. Would make it a lot easier to sort and organise my save games! (I don't have high hopes though, seeing as this feature was never available throughout all of TW1.)

Of course. Question from the topic name "Patch 1.4 - What should be in it?" Answer: "fixed save game system".

In my opinion, the best way to fix the save game system would be to limit the number of autosaves - once you have, let's say, 5 autsaves, the game should overwrite the oldest file next time it auto-saves instead of creating additional files.

This is the handling used in almost every game that performs some kind of autosaves, and I think it's the most convenient. If you want to keep some kind of "savegame archive", allowing you to return to a much earlier state in your playthrough, you're much better off if you create manual saves regularly - those have proper pictures, so you can identify them much easier.

This is not what Hydr0gen_cz is talking about, though. If you read the post, Hydr0gen_cz explains that the problem with the save system is that not every state of the world is saved, and that's what s/he wishes would be fixed.

I'll take your word for it, since I haven't read the books. :) You can see the point I was trying to make in my original post though, right? There needs to be a balance struck between being faithful to the subject material and ensuring the game is fun for players.

You have to admit though, it makes for some hilarious save game stories.

Autosaves (there are what, 3 in the entire game?)
Massively reduced frequency of colour dialogue.
Back button on controller actually does something.
Radial menu on controller is a radial menu.
Buyback option added to shops.
Difficulty setting between easy and normal. Then another difficulty setting between easy and that, and another between that and normal. Rename normal to really god damned hard and easy to god mode.

Resolve that annoying memory bug that causes the game to crash after a couple of hours. Even 1.35 hasn't fixed it for me.

The 'attacking multiple enemies' can be useful if you're being swarmed, because a good blow on one guy can keep him away for a brief moment in which you can land a hit on the other guy, and vice versa.

But if you don't like it there's a button for locking on a target. You can see what it is and reassign it from the launcher.
