Eoghain: What do you want, Rusty, a spy-cam?
rustypup: I would be the first to acknowledge that my reading comprehension is far from ideal but this comment left me mystified. :/ Please feel free to elaborate. Unless, of course, it has nothing to do with the OP.
Getting upset over someone challenging the necessity of including said nudity/sex is.... somewhat less than mature. It's a question is perfectly valid.
The nudity adds little, (at least for anyone who enjoys actual intercourse with another human being), and comes across as precisely the sort of naive, animatronic, proxy for intercourse Hollywood is known for. It is a stunted, awkwardly executed, excuse for anything remotely acquainted with immersion. So why was it included?
Judging by 70%+ of the responses in this thread, I believe that question has a simple, and very predictable, answer.
lol... well put :P (especially that last bit)...
As far as sex-clips in a video game goes, this is a lot better than most, but still a bit limited. I'm not saying it's realistic or immersive, but except in a couple of cases (like the whores) I would hardly say it was gratuitous. As I said in an earlier post, the opening scene really sets up the story well, Geralt relaxing, not too keen to get involved in the fight (dialogue even says as much), just happy to be in the arms of a loving woman... that's my view anyway :) And you can't tell me you've never woken up with the morning horn and tried to get it on with the missus.....
The elven baths scene and the dialogue that leads up to it was quite well done I thought... *SPOILER* especially the bit where Triss grabs his foot and pulls him in while he was struggling to get out of his boots.... that kind of playful interaction moves it a bit closer to more realistic... a little :)
But I can see your point about it appearing "put on" for want of a better word.
As interesting and stimulating as this debate is becoming (apart from the immature "cause I need to see moar secks" nerd posts), I am afraid I must bid you all goodnight, here in Aussieland it is almost 1am - and I have a meeting with a client first thing in the morning.
