I was wondering if it was fixed yet as I want to start playing the game in full-screen instead of %80 screen mode.
You mean 90%, but no it's still 16:9. I never had a problem with it (in fact the first time it was brought up I had to start the game up to check, and I'd played it for about 8 hours straight before that), but to each his own, I guess.
Played whole game on 16/10 27" monitor in 1920x1200...
An awesome experience one that I would hardly call a "bug".

I'm sorry but i have to get this off my chest.

Just because you dont like the way something is, DOES NOT make it a BUG!

A bug is like when a quest is broken and cannot be completed.

Small black bars at 1920x1200 to keep aspect raitio is NOT a bug!
Its just unreal how many people are moaning about something so trivial. (yes i play at 1920x1200)
I'll tell ya where the bug is....its up your....

Next thing ya know people will be complaining the game doesnt scale right when you turn your monitor 180 degrees and try to play in picture mode and the "bug" must be fixed.

And if they do eventually add native support for 16:10, then you guys will complain you have a narrower FOV.
That's not necessary...

Correct, though, it's not a bug. But 16:9 only is a flaw that should not have been there to begin with.

It is far from trivial! It's a sign of developers taking shortcuts and not supporting a large amount of their customer base. There is no reason this shouldn't have been in the game at launch, and is unacceptable it wasn't fixed in their first patch.
It hardly makes the game unplayable, and is not considered a bug.

I just got tired of the many many posts stating they cannot play the game yet until this bug is fixed. (do a search)

And it is trivial, you can play the game just fine , other people are/were experiencing real bugs that prevented them from playing at all, or completing quests, those got top priority as they should have.

Now if the game didnt play at all at 1920x1200 that would be a real issue, as it stands now, it would be nice to see it fixed but its not as critical as people make it seem.

Again I am going to say it's FAR FROM TRIVIAL! While the game is playable with the black bars it is a big deal to quite a lot of people including myself. I refuse to play the game until it is fixed, and while I love the games they make if this trend of lazyness continues I won't be buying another game from CDP.
Then dont play it.

Seriously, every darn pc game nowadays has bugs/glitches and we all deal with them at one time or another if youre a gamer.

And all of us no doubt have had to play games with bigger issues than this.

Its the "nature of the beast" of pc gaming and so many different combination's of hardware.

I cannot believe people let something like this from playing a great game.

Well that is your choice, but complaining its a bug and needs to fixed ASAP isnt getting you anywhere.

CDP could just as easily post that its a "bug" with our hardware and we all need 1080p monitors instead and we need to fix it.

You CAN play, you just dont WANT to.
Its not a critical bug, but its still something for what i'm waiting to be fixed before my second playthrough...
Its a bit odd anyway, that game made exclusively for PC has that sign of recognition from witch You can tell its a console port...

Oh yeah, definitely agree it was made with the console version in mind, whether they admit it or not.
We even get the mesh looking shadows so many xbox 360 ports have, not to mention the "pop in" streaming textures that are also programmed for consoles with low memory requirements.....etc...etc...

I think we all know this was developed for the xbox 360 also, i am just glad we get the pc version first for once, so i at least give CDP credit for treating their pc gaming roots with some respect.

So i guess how mad you get at this issue may actually depend on how PO'ed you are about being told it was developed for pc and finding out that it really isnt true.
We all "know" why there is no native 16:10 support out of the box.
Yes, because any self respecting company would really structure their developments and investments along the less profitable projects and options?

I have been gaming on the PC since 1993 when the origional Doom came out. I work in IT and am well aware of the nature of the beat of pc gaming. By the way we do agree on a couple things. They are as follows:

1. This game was made for consoles in mind.
2. This is not a bug. This is due to #1 which is why it is not acceptable to me.

I own all the consoles so let me clarify I am not a pc gaming eliteist. That being said when a company releases a game on PC there is no reason the port needs to be anything but great. You look at games like Batman Arkham Asylum , Transformers War for Cybertron, just about any game from Bethesda, and Mass Effect 1 and 2 amoung others and you see developers that develop correctly for the PC.

Ebon-Hawk let me ask you something if it's so not profitable to focus on PC releases why did CDP do so well with the Witcher? Why are pc only developers Valve, and Blizzard two of the top grossing studios in the industry?

As a long time PC gamer I accept that there will be issues out of the box with most titles. That being said I also expect that something as standard as 16:10 resolutions to be fully supported without black bars. I garuntee you that you would never see a Valve or Blizzard game released with those black bars present.
Well igot 4:3 19" monitor... For me it is a bug i got two big ass black bars that makes the actuall screen size ~15" or less... so it's is really really small so small it piss me off that it works fine only on low settings on my Radeon 4870X2 and fully O/c E8400 3Ghz @ 4Ghz + 8 GB Ram >.< Oh wait yes theres the annoying light bug to top it...
Yes I understand now... any self respecting company should limit its revenue and only make software for your preferred system, because god forbids they diversify and make more money on other popular gaming systems (like gaming consoles) right? I mean why sell 5mil copies when you can sell only 2mil right? /sarcasm off

In addition, one small look into IT industry and you would know that majority of main stream monitors for sale are now 16:9. Personally I hate it, but that is what is being made at the moment a 1920x1060 also known as HD... a letterbox format. I am a proud owner of 2x 27" 16:10 Samsung monitors (1920x1200) and I will quite possibly hate the day when I will need to switch to 16:9 and loose some of my desktop real estate (or pay over the roof for to keep it)... however, what I will not do is call it a "bug"... What I will call it is mainstream support only (because this is what this thread is about according to OP).
