have to agree its the best game i have played in a long time thank you cd projet
Ah, finally got some time to sink into it, and got through the prologue and out of the dungeon. I was enjoying it reasonably up until the end of the siege, and then the final scene blew me away!
Also, while trying to avoid any spoilers here... I convinced a guy to lay down his weapons, and his later effect on the dungeon escape got me too. CDP's choices-and-consequences narrative device has hit its stride it seems.

Sweet lord, their writing, voice direction, and dialogue motion capture has absolutely eclipsed The Witcher 1... as well as any fantasy RPG I've played so far. They're up in Mass Effect 2 territory now, and in many ways I prefer this.
In most other respects, it blows away even Mass Effect 2. The graphics aren't just impressive on a large scale, the attention to detail is absolutely second to none. I've never encountered a game world that felt so meticulously hand-crafted, while not feeling artificially-bounded, even when in most cases they are. I think it's the utter plausability of every part of it, the locations, the script, the motivations behind everything... it just feels entirely natural, nothing feels contrived to serve the gameplay.

I'm utterly immersed, and as a VFX artist, and a long-serving games snob who's deeply critical of game design, I can say that it's the first time I've been truly immersed in any game for years! Usually just the obvious divide between narrative and gameplay mechanics breaks the illusion for me, but so far the story and the game they've created here are woven so well together that I'm entirely absorbed.

Well, that's my review based on the first few hours anyway. I'm looking forward to it opening up and seeing if they can keep the calibre of writing up once it's spread out over a wider scope.

I've been absolutely floored by the tiny amount I've played so far. The quality of the all those elements-outstanding dialogue, graphics, and sound- is on a level I've never experienced before in an RPG. Even games that I love, like Mass Effect 2, aren't close to what TW2 has done. I'm blown away.
I've not been able to spend as much time playing today as I would have liked (bloody real life getting in the way of my gaming!) so I am not yet through the prologue, but I have to say that this is the best game I've played in ages. Every little aspect of it has blown me away so far, and it's eye-poppingly beautiful too. Very definitely deserving of high praise.

Great job CDPR, this is what a good RPG should look like :)
Agree that this is a GREAT game.
I am suffering a few graphical bugs but the game itself is like being in a time-warp where you literally forget that time exists.

Great job and well worth the wait.

That speaks for me, too. A few glitches here and there, but a lovely game.

FooFoo-Jam: After 8 hours of nonstop play it's official.

HL2 has been dethroned and Witcher 2 is now the best game I have ever played. OMG words can't describe it <3
=O 8 hours nonstop?? your a$$ should be flat by now...lol

I still have to wait 44 minutes to finish my download. I hope I'm one of those with techinial issues
The game is awesome but the combat is in my opinion a great mess , enemies attacks me knocking me down even if i block , i can't even roll to a side , if i stand i fall again all i can do is wait for the game over screen ... and the quests i have no idea what to do they say blow up the nekker nests , ok i go find the nests and then ? am i doing something wrong ? :(

I just finished a 7 hour Witcher 2 marathon. I have been thoroughly enjoying it. There are definitely bugs and things that could use some fixing, but it's all minor and doesn't take away from how awesome the game is.
love this game:), im still in chapter 1, ive spent at least 6-8 hours just taking my sweet sweet time:)

Anyone else here in the same boat as me?
So happy you all have gotten to enjoy what you purchased.. as for the rest of us.. well we're not so happy :(
Yes, aside from a few (very minor) quibbles, this game has lived up to what I expect from it.

It's gorgeous, it's difficult without being frustrating (on normal difficulty), and the choices matter.

8 hours or so, so far, and barely coming up for air.
A few bugs, but it look amazing. I'm still in Chapter 1 taking my time admiring the areas, people. So far I love the story and the combats not a push over so it keep you on your toes.
