Kezardin: I finished chapter 2 yesterday and did the autopsy before finding the body in the crypt or attending the party, so there's some flexibility.

@ destovel - just out of interest, have you physically been to the tower in the swamp ? Both Kalkstein and Raymond have dialogue options for it and these may not show if it's location in still not known exactly.
I did try that out as well, I walked up to the tower door and clicked it to see the "Locked" text pop-up on the screen. Then I talked to Kalkstein and Raymond, yet still no further dialogue options. For now, I think I will just wait for the TW official forums to come back online and then see what tools are available there / re-post my question then
I too have the same problem as OP. Raymond gives the same responses and just being able to sleep. I'm at the same part in the story and have been stuck here for the past couple days. I haven't found anyone else that refers to this problem other than here though...
Anyone stuck in this quest could try the suggestion in the last post of this thread

It didn't work for destovel's save unfortunately but hopefully it will help others.

Also make sure that the List of suspects from Raymond has been read.

destovel: [...]
I'm officially an idiot D:
I found out how to fix your save, although you probably started the Chapter II anew.

Anyway, if it still matters, drop me a PM.

I got several messages asking for help, so I'm posting the whole workaround here:

Vizima Confidential / A Mysterious Tower fix
** only use if you are 200% certain this is the same bug OP run into! try talking to everyone (even when dialogue options are greyed) and doing all possible quests beforehand. **

Easy fix: send me your save ([my username]-at-gog.com) and I will have a look.

No-so easy fix: do it yourself:

You'll need:
- TWEditor (for EE version)
- K-GFF editor
- modified .qst file

EDIT: If above links are dead, all files can be found HERE

- backup your save
- open and unpack the bugged save with TWE (Actions->Unpack)
- navigate to the newly created folder, replace q2101_thecase.qst file with one from the link
- run K-GFF, check under 'View' if Witcher IDs are used
- open save000###.smm file with K-GFF
- press F10 (or Tools->Search by Text), seach for npc_raymond
- one row below the StoryNPC (StoryPhase), change the value from 'autopsy' to 'tower'
- save the file, exit K-GFF
- go back to TWE (if you closed the progam, open the exact save once again), repack your save
- prof... I mean, you should be able now to talk to Raymond and continue the quest

Hopefully this will help. If something goes wrong, post here or drop me a PM.

I just encountered this problem, and someone posted the solution an hour ago... I love the internet. Thanks Thiev!

I second TehCheez's enthusiasm - I ran into this exact problem over the weekend, did a little Googling and find this thread - awesome!

Thiev, thanks very much for the offer to take a look at the save game, I may take you up on it, but first I'll go back and double-check that every conversation option for every relevant NPC has been exhausted (though I think they are). My Quest list looks exactly like the OP's, and "Tower" is pointing me to Raymond's - with the exception that the 9 stones I've collected have been put in place in the monoliths.

An earlier post where you mentioned "The problem lies with talking to all suspects about their innocence, without returning to Raymond first." made the light go on, 'cause that's exactly what I did, not to mention going and finding the body of the real Raymond before being given the autopsy quest. I've been near enough to the Mage's Tower to have its "dot" on the map specifically named "Mage's Tower" but I have not clicked the door to try to enter it, I'll also try that and go back to talk to Kalkstein, see if he's got a new dialogueoption about a trap for Javed (I haven't seen that option from him yet).

Thanks again!
JT

This should be affected in the slightest - only Raymond's quest appears to be bugged. 'Tower' is perfectly fine.

As for the bug's cause I think its connected to proving all suspects innocent too fast but I never encountered the problem myself.

That's apparently what I did - I'm a bit of a completionist, and didn't want to miss anything by going back to talk to Raymond too early, so I did everything I could to resolve all of the "Suspect: X" quests before returning to him, and that included finding his body in the crypt, again before I returned to him. At some point in that process the Poor Boy came to tell me Raymond wanted to see me, but I ignored him and kept investigating. I'll be able to do all the double-checking tonight, and will post back with results.

If the Poor Boy has come and told you that Raymond wants to see you, you should be able to go talk to (fake) Raymond without penalty. I'm pretty sure that the bug Thiev is referring to occurs AFTER this, but I'm not certain.

Finding Raymond's body in the crypt automatically clears all the suspects, but it's useful to go back and talk to them and tell them that they're cleared. They'll have some useful information for you.

Yep, I had resolved the Suspect: X quest for everyone but Kalkstein w/out finding the body (and had told each one and heard what they had to say, which marked each quest as complete), he was the last one left when I did find the body, and then I talked to him to let him know he was cleared too. Now the only thing I can say to Kalkstein is "How do I get to the swamp?" and the only thing I can say to Raymond is "See ya". Pretty darn frustrating, I must say.

So, after the Poor Boy tells you that Raymond wants to talk to you, Raymond still had nothing to say? What was the last thing that Raymond DID have to say to you?

EDIT: Also make sure that you've read the List of Suspects that Raymond gave you earlier. It's a quest item and you just need to right-click it.

At first I ignored the Poor Boy and didn't go see Raymond when he asked, 'cause I was trying to close all the "Suspect: X" quests (including reading the List of Suspects) before going back (which is apparently what causes this bug). By the time I did go back to see Raymond, he says, "Yes?" and all I can say is, "See ya."

Thanks to Thiev, who took my savegame and fixed it, I was able to make Raymond say, "Finally, you're back" (or something like that) and get the dialogue options that allow the quest to continue, resulting in receiving the 10th stone and opening the tower. I finished Act II and am rolling in Act III.

Thiev rocks!
