Redeemed my code, downloaded the necessary files, but unable to get the game installed
I'm getting this message:

Installation failed with code: -3: Checksum error
Please restart the installer and try again
If the problem persists, please contact Support

Just wondering if anyone else has run into the same problem, if so, how do i fix this?

Could this simply be because the game is not released yet? You can "pre-load" it, which means you can download the files, but you shouldn't be able to install and play it yet. At least I don't think so. But I'm by no means certain. Maybe someone else knows for sure. But I'm guessing the installer may not work until May 19.

If you get a checksum error, you will probably need to download it again.

When the download finishes, it performs a checksum test on the file. If the value is off, then that means that there was a problem with the download. A few bits got out of place and the whole thing is ruined.

All you need to do is redownload the file.

I would recommend not using Galaxy. Lots of folks are having issues with it. You will want to use the GOG Downloader tool or just download from the website.

In a post here: http://www.gog.com/forum/general/checksums_keep_failing -- someone said that using the downloader (you can learn how to use it at the support site) and pausing 1/3 of the way and 2/3 of the way through the download helped him get Fallout downloaded correctly without checksum errors.

I myself have changed the concurrent downloads from 8 to 1 to get positive results for another game.

To get it right, I'd do the whole thing again.

You may be able to use the downloader and try to download it and it will check the integrity of each file. But I'm not 100% sure if it will detect the error.

Installed!

I re-downloaded the files and then proceed to install, i checked the option "check file integrity"

this time, no problem at all. yay!

for everyone else that is having the same issue, i hope re-downloading will take care of it.

You dont have to re-download all the files, just check file integrity first, it will tell you which files are damaged , then you can just redownload those files.

i have same problem and i dont want to download all files how can i fix it because my internet is 3mbit :(((

I am having this exact error - I don't want to redownload because the download is huge and australian internet is slow, not to mention it would use up my purchased internet download amount effectively costing my money. Since I manually download the 7 parts right from the site I was hoping to identify the problem file and just redownload that.

I used this site's how to to run a checksum: pcsupport.about.com/od/software-tools/ht/verify-file-integrity.htm
Using the -sha for the end (not that I know what any of this means)

I have the numbers but I have nothing to compare them to. Would someone whose installation worked fine consider running a check and posting the numbers for those with errors to compare to?
