Any word on when they are going to release that patch to the public? I saw this morning a streamer was given the patch.
Looks like it's released on Steam, but not GOG. :(
Don't expect it to be released over a weekend. GOG mans only skeleton crew at weekends. Look to Tuesday, maybe?
That sucks.
agree. such is a major difference between Steam and Gog that sucks.
What is even worse is that on Gog there are no ACHIEVEMENTS but on Steam there are :-((((
GOG is not Steam. Steam is the largest digital distribution service in the world, started in, what, 2002? GOG is a small company and GOG Galaxy is still in its infancy. It's no wonder publishers prefer Steam. Don't blame GOG.

Which doesn't really make things better.

We want patches for the games to come out in a timely manner once they are released by the developers. Not waiting days for them to get around to putting the patch into the system.

This may be the first and last game I buy on GOG due to the simple reason of patching delay.

I have had three CTDs with this game today alone and it is driving me away from playing. I want the patch to improve the stability of the game so I can play.
If you care about quick patching for freshly released games, don't choose GOG. That's unfortunately the gist of it.

That being said, it's definitely getting better. Compared to a few years ago, patches on GOG are nowadays pushed out relatively quickly. It might still take a day or two, however.
Case in point: A Hat in Time here on GOG... dev said (here on GOG) in his own words that he is now on the "new build system" that lets him push updates/patches instantaneously like Steam

https://www.gog.com/forum/a_hat_in_time/a_hat_in_time_on_gog_galaxy_now_has_achievements/post1

Granted it's only for Galaxy users (which I am)... since being on it, he pushed 4 updates in one weekend... the system DOES exist... why a title as high profile as the new Bard's Tale isn't on it, though, is beyond me... wish GOG would put more devs on that new system, but I'm sure it's a matter of "when it's ready"... it WILL improve, though!

As an original Kickster backer, I was really disappointed to see a lack of feature support for Galaxy... yah people here call you all sorts of names for wanting them, but for me it's never been about the arbitrary points or little sound and notification... it's more about the post-game for me... Achievements give a single player game longevity because after I complete the game, I'll look at the list and see what I missed, see what kind of challenges the developer built into the Achievements and they'll give me a reason to fire it up and go play some more for the challenge, not a virtual reward... I appreciate them for that

The developers release patches for Steam that are instantly available because they are *made* for Steam. GOG has to process what developers give them to work with Galaxy. Blame the developers.

"We want..." doesn't make a thing instantly available.

This is no longer the case. And GOG shouldn't want it to be. Not getting timely patches for brand new titles will absolutely push customers away. I always try to choose GOG when it's an option, but if they don't get more companies on board with instant patching it really makes them a terrible choice for new releases.

And?

With the vast majority of publishers, yes it is.

Hickory: And?
The And is... there is a solution that exists where GOG doesn't need to do work on their end for Galaxy users... so your "GOG has to process what developers give them to work in Galaxy" statement is incorrect... granted, yes... not all developers are on that system yet
I can only agree that faster patches are very VERY desirable.

Maybe, we should all vote up the following feature on the wishlist:
