Case in point: A Hat in Time here on GOG... dev said (here on GOG) in his own words that he is now on the "new build system" that lets him push updates/patches instantaneously like Steam
https://www.gog.com/forum/a_hat_in_time/a_hat_in_time_on_gog_galaxy_now_has_achievements/post1 Granted it's only for Galaxy users (which I am)... since being on it, he pushed 4 updates in one weekend... the system DOES exist... why a title as high profile as the new Bard's Tale isn't on it, though, is beyond me... wish GOG would put more devs on that new system, but I'm sure it's a matter of "when it's ready"... it WILL improve, though!
theDragon1972: What is even worse is that on Gog there are no ACHIEVEMENTS but on Steam there are :-((((
As an original Kickster backer, I was really disappointed to see a lack of feature support for Galaxy... yah people here call you all sorts of names for wanting them, but for me it's never been about the arbitrary points or little sound and notification... it's more about the post-game for me... Achievements give a single player game longevity because after I complete the game, I'll look at the list and see what I missed, see what kind of challenges the developer built into the Achievements and they'll give me a reason to fire it up and go play some more for the challenge, not a virtual reward... I appreciate them for that
