Marinx: This is really awfull. I also have about 27 GB free space on my SSD where game is installed and game refuses to install. Out of space :(
I can't free space to install patch, and there is no separate patch file on GoG via browser. Do I really need to redownload whole game once again to just for this patch?
Any suggestions?
waltc: That's odd, because I installed it this a.m. and the result is an installation ~4GBs smaller than the original--original 55+GBs, patched 51+ GBs. What kind of SSD do you have? If it's a Samsung, then odds are you have 10% of your drive space reserved. Unreserve it temporarily, then install the patch, and then reserve it again. It's always going to be tricky with an SSD if it's a smaller one and it's your boot drive, too.
My install of D:OS2 is on my SSD, and it *doubled* in install size after the Definitive Edition--because it is essentially two separate programs, now...;) I'm lucky as I still have > 45GBs left on my SSD! Good luck--I have this game installed on a regular 7200 rpm HDD and it's fine, really. Loads are 20-30 secs, max, now. Not enough to worry over.
I have Samsung SSD 250 GB and I disabled space reserving and I also manage to free 10 GB more. Now I have over 36 Gb and patch still refuses to install. Really BS. Now I'll have to download again the whole game just to manage to play. Because on my rig, game stutters all the time when I set textures to Ultra. And I run KIngodm come and D:OS 2 with no problems.
What is really ridiculous, if I set textures to one step below (High), textures looks a little better then old Daggerfall. And I can't see symbols on puzzle weapons, symbols on rotating stone puzzles etc.
I just hope that someday polished games on day 1 of release, will be "in" again. Like it's used to be.
Well maybe I should go play Star Control Origins and leave BT4 for couple of months.
