So... I assume we're getting the fixed version sometime soon right?

Kind of annoying being stuck on that damn slaver quest with no way to exit...

Also I'm pretty sure this was fixed about a week ago - so any idea when the update is going to come on here?

I don't know when it'll get posted, if it's not yet - I've sent it. If you want, you can send your save game to me - info@infamous-quests.com - and I get get you by that part and send you on your way.

Well there's no great rush since I've managed to get absorbed into another game in the meantime - however, since you're offering (and I don't know how long they'll take), here's the link: https://www.dropbox.com/s/irk9moe96zym1g9/agssave.002?dl=0

Hopefully that's the right one - it's either just before or just after I whack the big guy. Either way if you find time to do this and manage to set it to just after that corridor that would be appreciated. I can't remember whether I freed the slaves yet or not - I may have decided to wait till afterwards in a vain attempt at avoiding the bug...

Good to know you've sent it at least. Strange - GOG's normally faster than this...

No probs. Here it is - it was before you wacked the big guy, but I went and did that and then got you by the snagging bug. Saved it in the next room. You're all set!

If you need anything else, you let me know.

I encountered the same bug, but I solved the problem by using one of Prospero's teleportation pills after killing the slaver.

Thanks Bt!

BTW are you aware that if you whack him and then go back, he magically reappears? The description says he's dead if you try to whack him at that point (so obviously I hadn't done it yet in that save), but the animation/etc. is reset to him sleeping.

Probably not an issue since the only reason I even went back that way in the first place was because I couldn't escape the corridor...

As an asides, am I the only one who tried to use many, many different implements on him in the hope of getting some kind of nasty bonus death going here? Was thinking it would be awesome to kill him with the ceremonial dagger or a tool, or strangle him with the chains or something.

Not saying the death method isn't satisfying as-is by any means - it's definitely cool and satisfying. I've probably just played too much Hitman many years ago...

This. Is. A. BRILLIANT. Idea.

WTF didn't I think of that?!

That could actually be a "workaround" for any future "cannot escape from room" bugs in any game ever (if it had those pills in it!).

Really? He re-appears? Grrr....

In version 1.1, we had the slaver's apartment as one room that scrolled; and various bits of graphics would turn on as you moved about. It proved to put too many bugs into the whole system, so for 1.1 we split every part up into its own room.... and when we re-programmed the Slaver's bedroom, someone probably forget to leave in the code that makes him STAY DEAD. Ugh.

Thanks for the notes on that one; I can fix that for a future update and for when we burn it to DVD.

Also, I originally DID plan for more more methods of death on the Slaver (Burning him alive was one) but we didn't have the time or budget left to produce all those alternate animations, which is a bummer, I know.

I assume you mean 1.0?

I was wondering what was different about that - I thought I remembered having the room actually appear as Roehm snuck a look at the other room/corridor! Probably why the first time I snuck a peek, I did it about 5 times because I vaguely remember it differently so thought I might have stuffed something... ;)

Kind of disappointed that it's no longer there, since I don't remember there being any bugs in that part? Or maybe I was just lucky? That's OK though, as long as that bug gets fixed it'll be cool.

Although while you're at it, would it be possible to have the description of the chest of drawers or whatever actually make sense (the one you can rob from)? It's one of the few objects in the whole game where the description doesn't really tie in with what it is... Minor thing I know...

I also wish there was more to pilfer (in that room), but I'm happy to go with what's there because it fits perfectly with him being a fat bastard. :)

Burning him alive? Nice. I like the way you think. But that's cool, I got to burn one dude and some trees so I'm happy on that front. :)

Well speaking of minor bugs, that guy at the docks still doesn't give you the bracers if you buy them! Probably makes sense to remove them since they're not likely to be useful by the time you can afford them anyway... Would also be cool if he sold some "smokes", since he implies that he does... (though they should probably make you wish you hadn't bought them, judging by the sorcerer's quest).

Hahah, yeah, I could keep filling QFI up with all kinds of little content I left on the cutting room floor. The cool thing about digital distribution is that maybe further on down the line, we make a QFI: Director's Cut version with some of that kind of stuff thrown back in.

But at some point, you gotta put it down and move on to the next project. Or projects. Got a couple up our sleeves coming.

A couple? Cool. Good to see you're keeping busy (by which I mean, can't wait to see what they are!). ;)

You might want to prod them about it again. At least according to the help dialog (F1), the Windows version is still "v. 1.1.GoG". The Linux version claims to be "v. 1.1.1 GoG.com" though. (I don't know how to extract the data files from the Macintosh version, so I can't check that one.)

Thanks Erik, I'll make sure they have 1.1.1 - thanks!

Hi I am having the same problem. I downloaded the save game file, but it was for the rogue. Could you please
download one for brigand thanks.

Is this 1.1.1 the "future update" mentioned here or is there still one (1.2?) coming? Or was the idea of another patch abandoned since?

1.1.1 fix is now here. Finally.

So no more slaver bugs hopefully...
