l-w-c: Not sure what you mean, please re-review my link. More than 64% of these are from
much earlier, some "just" from last year while others are from even 5 years ago.
Right, there are many bug fix requests that were created.
Some were fixed, some were not fixed.
Three of the ones that were not fixed were created more than 5 years' ago. Those bugs are specific to the QFG4 version that was distributed via floppy disk, not the version that was distributed via GOG. I am guessing that those bugs were never fixed b/c the developers probably don't have the floppy disk version of QFG4.
You can also see some of the bugs that were not fixed that were created 19 months' ago. 2 of those bugs were fixed, and 4 were not fixed. In one of the bugs that were not fixed, you can see this note:
"To my knowledge, every open QFG4 ticket is an original game bug. Same with most QFG3 ones. They're not crashes or lockups or ScummVM bugs, and these two games have hundreds of script bugs.
See all of the script bugs listed in Ash Lancer's patch sets:
https://github.com/AshLancer/QFG3-Fan-Patch/
https://github.com/AshLancer/QFG4-Enhanced These two SCI games have an overwhelming amount of script bugs, especially QFG4. ScummVM has a disproportionately large number of QFG4 script patches. That's what it took to finally promote it to Stable. I wrote some of the intense ones, but most patches were written by a motivated fan.
Pull requests are always welcome, but the current state of QFG3/4 tickets is, in my opinion, a lot of low priority details, which is why these are the remaining open ones. No one else has shown any interest. As Ash's bug lists show, patching every single mistake out of these two games is hopeless. Someone could just keep going down the list of his bug list and create a ScummVM ticket for each. And these two games keep attracting tickets like this. So I leave them open for years in case someone wants to do anything about them. But when even *I'm* not interested... =)"
