Shmacky-McNuts: Any chance you folks will make a map generation system like Cataclysm? As in, the map generates more area in the direction the player moves. The number one thing that pissed me off and makes me want a refund is not having this. I'm stuck with static maps every game.
Correct me if I'm wrong, but I have a few maps in any game start I choose and it kinda makes think I just wasted my money when I could just play a lesser visually appealing CDDA for free. Will this be a future addition or just the handful of maps forever?
The game seems legit in making tension while playing. CDDA doesn't do this. But even so. Lacking a progressive random generation map is a major kick in the projects balls.
rokutoneko: Project Zomboid is not CDDA. It's universe does not feature generated "blockcities" but a shared county with large interesting cities. The randomness comes from:
- your starting position
- zombie layout
- loot and other stuff placement
Consider each round a different quantum reality of the same apocalypse. Each character has their own story to live and die. And if your like, you can have multiple stories in the same quantum reality.
Your playstyle will also be affected by getting to know the general layout of the city - which you would have in a real apocalypse as well. Would you run for the police station first to get weapons? Or the hardware store for tools and provisions? Seen that house at the end of the road of your last round? Maybe it will fend better than barricading in the gunshop?
Point is: there is enough content to explore and sufficient randomness to keep the world interesting. Just exploring the same random generated houses over and over would not improve your experience.
