I've tried to take screenshots with the dialogue window open but it doesn't show the game but a black screen instead.

Confirmed that I cannot take a screenshot in fullscreen (Windows7 x64/Radeon HD 5450 (4864MB)) - But in Windowed Mode it just works.
If I remember correctly, I did this:

-- In-game, I hit the Print Screen key on my keyboard.

-- I hit Alt-Tab to go back to the Desktop, and opened MS-Paint.

-- I hit Ctrl-V to paste the Print Screen into MS-Paint, and did Save.

FYI - my rig runs Windows 7 64-bit, and I only play in full-screen mode.

See attached for one of my resulting Print Screens.

Hope this helps. It's a beauty of a game for screenshot-ing!

Yup & Doing this in FullScreen Mode gets me a Black Image (as OP said) - trying various methods of screencapture via PaintShopPro X6 only thing I get in Fullscreen is either a Black Image or a Black Image with a white area (rectangle) inmidst the black...
Somehow this reminds me of taking Screenshots from Fullscreen Videos and the Problems with the various Video Rendering Methods like Overlay, VMR-7/9 or whatever else is installed/available (Hali, etc.).
So I guess the solution for fullscreen screenshots is to be found in the Driver Settings for the GFX-Adapter...

Does what you're saying happen with other games too? I wonder if you'd have better luck getting better help if you asked this in a General Discussion thread...

I am not the OP.... and yes, in other games (like java based ones alike to Edna and Harvey) "Print<Key>" and "Paste" ain't no problem,,,, As it is another System I can't confirm on this one (main PC), as an example Knights of the old Republic on my Laptop are ok in your mentioned method.... but that is an onboard T410 Intel GFX.... Mabye somedays ahead I have the time to try out PST:EE on my Laptop and test it there.... But I really am speculating and IMHO convinced that the culprit here is drivers/renderer settings,,,, And depending on your Hardware it may be possible to configure 'em to take a screenshot in FullScreen, or maybe not.... Sorry, the best experiences I've ever had on such configurations was with old Matrox Cards, after that... welll ATI/AMD or NVidea..... whatsoever..... No Idea where and what to configure to get it working, but it should be possible....
Well I found out I could take screenshots by adding it as a non-Steam game which allowed me to take pictures just fine. Thanks for all the suggestions though.

Adding as non-steam? Where and How-To? If you solved it for yourself, please elaborate on the subject, so that others may follow your steps ;)
