I just came back to Kingmaker after a few months layoff. Downloaded some DLC to celebrate (Varnhold, Wild Cards, and I guess Bloody Mess?) and started up. The game is dead silent. Audio settings in-game are at 100%. Speakers work just fine out of game. Audio driver is fully updated.

I saw there was an audio problem in October, but I don't show the symptoms of that, plus the 'net says that was fixed. Ayone have any ideas? I'd hate to have thrown money at the kickstarter, and more at the DLC, and not be able to play.

Is the sound device you are using enabled as default? Like this: https://imgur.com/a/sk9AcRv

Edit: Sometimes I would boot up a game and it would randomly switch to something else. Based on that, I would say that's a good place for you to check first.

Yes, the speakers are set as default, and for good measure I disabled the other option (that I don't actually have). I also went ahead and disabled all three DLCs just in case, but the main game is without sound as well. There was sound last time I played (before October), so its definitely new.
Have you tried reinstalling the game?
Hello! What OS do you have?

Same for me !!
A big surprise as version 2.05c was working fine ...

I even tried the libAkSoundEngine.so fix from PoE2, but I still have no sound at all (music+effects) with version 2.06.
I only have one audio card, every other game, movies, etc ... working fine.

Anyone still have the 2.05c install script ?? :D :D

2.0.6 works perfectly for me, without having to copy libAkSoundEngine.so. Music, voices, sfx. Not much different setup than yours, although I don't use pulseaudio. Does your Player.log (~/.config/unity3d/Owlcat\ Games/Pathfinder\ Kingmaker/Player.log) say anything useful?
@darktjm

Here you are (though I don't see anything concerning sound)

Your rep is too low to post URLs. I got it, anyway. Nothing interesting in Player.log. Unless you get odd error messages on the console, I have no idea. Sorry. As I mentioned above, I don't even use pulseaudio, so I don't know where to start analyzing it, and analyzing such things remotely via forum would probably be impossible, anyway.

@darktjm

Thanks anyway !

I also tred to load the game as a fresh install (with no saved config or saved games) but didn't work either....
I will try to re-install it now.
Fresh install after a new download, and ... still no sound :(

Anyone ?

I also have no issues with 2.0.6 (I use pulseaudio). libAkSoundEngine.so binary in 2.0.6 is the same one as in 2.0.5c, so I suppose, it's not the source of the problem.
Is there a client shown in pavucontrol while the game is running?

You have 2 sound devices. Your NVIDIA has on-board audio.

That's a fairly common configuration these days. The main sound card for speakers attached to the machine and a "sound card" that just relays digital streams to the HDMI port on the video card. I assume that since everything else works fine for vertux, this is not the issue.
