fjdgshdkeavd: not that anyone was begging me to be a disagreeable troll...but!
--i didn't like the graphics. Screenshots are stunning, but animations are terrible. Your character runs like a pansy. I feel like I should be listening to "Having a Wonderful Time" whenever he runs.
--i didn't like the plot. i loved Avatar, but this dumbs down the whole "White Man Helps Primitives" cliche to the point that I couldn't even meet it halfway.
Have we played the same game and watched the same movie? "Avatar" while undoubtedly a technical masterpiece has a very cliched (and even illogical and downright dumb at times) story while to story about the Talans is rich and has an entirely different premiss.
And to address both you and diegopmc: Personally, I think the graphics of Outcast are outstanding, I just think that someone, who never has seen voxel graphics - or plain simple wasn't a gamers back then - will need a little time to getting used to them.
I agree that some animations may look a little strange or even awkward but most of them are really well done.
If you consider how old that game actually is, it is somewhat of a technical marvel. The game uses effects that hardware accelerated 3D engines implemented years later.
Once you're sucked into the game you will experience stunning vistas and a world that's truly alive.
