chaosWyrM: i also use afterburner. its the easiest way to actually get the reshade...most other screen cap methods dont get the post processing.
and your method of getting rid of the hud is what i was doing before the toggle hud mod...it works...but its not a very elegant solution. its especially not good for "action" shots.
for what its worth...i have experienced zero problems using nmse...i find those two mods alone (toggle hud, and flashlight any time) are more than worth the price of admission. if i didnt know i was using nmse...i wouldnt know i was using it. really the one and only negative (if you can even call it that) is that gog galaxy no longer logs my hours played. achievements and such still trigger normally though...not that i care about any of that.
give nmse a shot...you can always stop using it if you dont like it. i think though youll find it useful.
Red_Eagle_LXIX: I use Steam to launch the game for their overlay, screenshot ability (which does grab ReShade processing) and free storage for the screenshot.
As for Galaxy not tracking time, never cared. I know Galaxy would track the time if it launched the game itself.
i dont think you can launch it via the nmse launcher through steam, which i need for the mods (maybe you can)...but it doesnt matter, i have no problems with my current setup.
ThorChild: No not weird at all :) Lots of people, maybe even most of them (i count myself as one) LOVE taking screenshots of the game. It's like this never ending incredible vista creation tool.
So yeah that is one of the main reasons you see lots of screenshots posted around the net for the game, and threads full of mostly screenshots. It would be great if GOG forums allowed us to embed screenshots too, links to view a screen are often passed over it seems.
Anyway i use a more 'clunky' method for screenshots.
I run MSIAfterburner software to enable a fps counter in the game (as i like to keep an eye on that) and it also allows you to configure keys for screenshots. It does other stuff like OC your GPU and record gameplay also, but i use it just for the fps counter and screenshots.
When i see a view i want to keep i go into the games graphics settings and switch 'Show HUD' to off (hit 'allow' button to enact) then go back to the game and all icons etc are gone, so take my screenshot, then go put the HUD back on to carry on gaming.
The torch issue is a problem, and as we have not seen a mod for that (outside of the script for NMSE) it looks like it will have to come from Hello Games (and that could take ages!). It is a crazy design choice really.
