WTF is this.
I played the game 6 years ago and it's still bugged.
Whenever I change the graphics settings (lower or higher) the game crashes.
I've never had this problem myself, I play this game on Windows 8 and Windows 10, both with the newest Nvidia drivers (win8 can only use older drivers). What OS and graphics card driver are you using?
Sounds like the problem I have all the time.

Really just get the most recent graphics drivers for your graphics. Its annoying, but that has fixed such problems so far for me every time.

I have the same problem. I played on GamePass and everything was normal. I bought the version of GOG, I installed then and the graphics are horrible and if I try to change the game gives error of Vulkan swap chain.

EDIT: I was able to change the graphics by setting Windows 8 compatibility to the game executable on Windows 10.

I had the same issue with the previous update. Whenever I tried to change any graphics setting it would crash. I'm running Win11 pro. After a couple hotfixes, the problem went away.

For this new update, my first start, the game crashed during the loading star streaming. However, I ran it immediately after and have had no other problems. Definitely odd.

I am running a vanilla game using an NVidia 4070ti with the latest 560.94 driver version.
i have the same problem. the game runs on game pass without issues, but on gog it crashes every time i change any graphics settings. updating the drivers did not fix the problem.

Did you try verifying the game files using GOG Galaxy? It checks to see if any of the game files on the PC appears to be corrupt and automatically replaces any suspect game files.

Good Luck
