dashiichi: Drat! Moving the grenade to the middle mouse button was a lifesaver in NEXT. Keeping the personal shield active by default (instead of the death grenade) is an option, I guess.
It isn't here on GOG yet because of the time zone differences but there is an experimental update with a lot of fixes coming out including the suicide prevention change.
