InfiniteClouds: Is the only way to pass magic barriers by having a level 11 Sorcerer? I'm in the lowest level of Dragadune and I can't access the Gongs... I'd really like to be able to continue raising my stats since with my entire party at level 8/9 I still can't come close to surviving in the A1/A2 sectors.
If so I'll just keep farming the Wyvern Peaks.
The spell is the only way past them, I think, unless there's a switch or something somewhere that turns them off. But I think you need the spell. There is a way to access spells that you don't have yet, but I think it only lasts through one battle, which would make it really hard to get all the way to the bottom of Dragadune before it runs out.
Have you explored everywhere yet? There are lots of quests to do and ways to gain lots of experience. I found that gaining levels (and therefore better spells) was more useful than boosting stats.
jsjrodman: This was super helpful, because I forgot Cleric 1-6 existed, since I had few to no gems when learning that level. At level 7 (my current) it's going to be great in a pinch. Healing surrrrge!
Power Cure is awesome. It's pretty much the only way to get a decent amount of healing on a single target at high levels. There are many other spells that also scale with the caster's level; keep an eye out for them because while they may not be that useful at first, at very high levels they can be very useful. This includes making spells harder for enemies to resist, so things like Finger of Death will work more often when the caster is higher level, for example.
