You AREN'T supposed to be getting all the techs in the box when you research one? ._. Wow, my game seem to be bugged so that me and the computer have all creativity, doesn't seem to apply multiplayer though xD

Hmm... As far as I know they shouldn't be, as they should be playing as the default races. That said, though, research isn't the only way to get hold of the techs - trading through diplomacy is possible, as is simply nicking technologies with spies, I believe.
Yeah, but I got shocked when I played the game in the multiplayer ._. I thought it was normal for the game... I just assumed that creativity made research faster or something since only time I won on average was with psylons... Anyway, like I said, bug seems to apply to the computers too since I don't always win despite having the creativity effect combined with whatever skills I actually picked.

Edit: Okay, I discovered something strange ._. It seems that after playing the game multiplayer, bug is now fixed ._. I now get only one tech per box, not all of them.. Kinda pity, but I guess its now time to see how this game is really played.

MaskedCreep you have to remember that for this classic 4x games the computer was made in a way that the higher difficulty you put the game in the more the AI cheats. It is possible that the computer might get free tech on higher difficulty or at least extra RP out of nowhere.
Well, true I guess... Wait, does that apply to the average too? ._.

Anyway, it still doesn't change the fact that before the multiplayer match, my game worked like I had creativity despite not having it... Oh well, doesn't matter now.

About the difficulty i do feel that average does start to give benefts to the AI because thats the difficulty i play on. About you getting all techs without creative trait, yes that's a bug but i have never encountered. I'm glad is fixed now because for me creative takes so much of the game out that it doesn't feel like your playing the full game.

So Psilon's do get a +2 research advantage in addition to having the creative bonus. At the very beginning you also do get all 3 techs in some of the research fields even for normal species. But if you were getting all 3 techs in every category throughout the game and didn't have the creative bonus then that is indeed strange.

Hmmm =/ Well, I was always getting both hydrofarm and biosphere when researching them, but my memory is so bad that I can't honestly say if it might be that I have just not noticed not getting all techs later on... But I do remember getting all late biology research things at same time when playing as humans.

Hmmm ... difficult to diagnose since the problem is no longer occurring. I guess it just good that it is working well now :P - if the problem crops up again (hopefully it won't), post what happened.
Hmm, yeah, I tell if it happens again. Still, now playing the game for real feels weird ._. I thought the bug was part of the game, so I didn't know you weren't supposed to get all tech =/ Now I need to learn play this game different... Oh well xD Case closed I suppose.
Yeah I think you'll find it much more engrossing this way anyway. Depends on who you ask of course, but having to pick and choose your techs forces you to strategize a little harder and place more emphasis on spying and trading for techs which I think makes the game more fun. Enjoy!
